This campaign is a homebrew adaptation of the Curse of Strahd official module. As the storm clouds gather over the towering Castle Ravenloft, Countess Strahd von Zarovna watches from above. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind's howling increases as she turns her gaze down toward the village of Barovia. Far below, yet not beyond her keen eyesight, a party of adventurers has just entered her domain. Strad's face forms the barest hint of a cunning smile on her red-tinged lips as her dark plan unfolds. She knew they were coming, and she knows why they came -- all according to her plan. A lightning flash rips through the darkness, but Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind fills the midnight air. Will you be able to break the curse that has plagued Barovia for centuries, or will you fall prey to the machinations of Strahd? Only time will tell, for the mistress of Castle Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. About me
Hi there! I'm Mmaria, a Professional Dungeon Master. I am a Brazilian woman who always had a passion for games, specially TTRPGs. The first time I played an RPG game was when I had only 14 years old, and the expectation of great adventures led me to beg my grandmother to buy me the Starter Kit for 4ed D&D and a set of dice. Ever since I've been playing TTRPGs, mostly as the Game Master. You see, DMing is not only my job, but also my passion. I've always loved writing and creative projects, so to be able to weave a tale of adventure with a group of friends, to build entire worlds and live a thousand lives is truly incredible! I've been working as a Professional DM for 2 years now, with over 10 tables in discord, and now I'm transitioning over to StartPlaying! I've ran multiple official and homebrew campaigns over the years. I'm also recording a stream of Curse of Strahd with five other friends and myself as the Dungeon Master, which you will soon be able to find in Twitch and Youtube. I love running spooky games, so you'll always see some Curse of Strahd, Ravenloft, Underdark and sometimes even some Call of Cthulhu campaigns going! I'm also building a massive homebrew world, which is the initial setting of our stream. I have my own version of Curse of Strahd, a revamped (pun intended) version that drastically expands on the official 5E campaign to include layers upon layers of original content based from the Ravenloft modules and gazetteers of the 2nd and 3.5 editions. Above all, however, is my will to make sure you have the best time possible during our game! Immersion is key to telling a story and I guarantee that with my DMing and the tools I use - creative plots, fully fleshed out settings and NPCs, engaging descriptions, animated maps, image handouts, music and sound effects - you will have fun! Truly a passionate and fun DM. Maria is incredibly patient and open to all sorts of ideas. If you're looking for a DM who likes to emphasize creativity, roleplaying, and storytelling above all else - I think you can't find one as talented as Maria. She puts a lot of care into her performances and can create an exciting immersive atmosphere. Her tables are all about creating a positive atmosphere, where players can explore and not feel restricted or forced down a restrictive narrative. I can wholeheartedly say she is one of the best DMs I have sat in games with.

Mmaria is good at immersing players in the world of her design that is fun and exciting. I do like her Curse of Strahd story and adaptation. Often times her attentiveness to players needs suffers due to the number of games she runs and she does not answer reasonable queries for a paid game. This can be addressed by putting aside a set time to answer existing player queries. Her ability to work with players to create new story that might not be in modules as written but gives greater depth showing a commendable creative spark. It can be a challenge to ensure characters drive story, not the other way around. I enjoy playing in her world and liked the way she adapted to players request to adapt their character.

Maria is a wonderful DM. I am currently in two or her regular campaigns (a weekly & bi-weekly campaign) and I have done her one-shots as well. She is super creative, listens to feedback, and is great for beginners and advanced players alike.

✅ Characters will be created before and during Session 0. ✅ Stats are: 17, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8. ✅ Characters begin with a feat at 1st level. ✅ Characters will begin at level 2. ✅ All sourcebooks are allowed + approved UA content + provided Homebrew content. ✅ Characters are free to begin play with 1 uncommon magic item. ✅ I'll provide you with a guide to crafting your backstory to help you develop it and will give your character a plot hook.

How Mmaria creates a safe table
✅ This adventure is part of my Ravenloft Revamped series, which is a retelling of the Ravenloft adventures from previous editions adapted into 5E. ✅ This is a dark-fantasy/gothic horror adventure, so expect mature themes. ✅ We will do a free session 0 and I will hand out to players a Consent Checklist and a small survey to learn what do you want to see in the adventure. ✅ Everything, including plots, characters and settings, will be rewritten from the official module to bring a new twist and tailor the campaign to you and the other players. ✅ I'll work with you to help you create a backstory for your character and give you a hook to the main plot. ✅ As for 3 pillars of play go: 55% roleplay, 30% combat, 15% exploration. ✅ We will have mechanics for potion brewing and item crafting. Other mechanics will be implemented if the need arises or if the party wishes. ✅ House Rules will be voted on during session 0. ✅ Only the homebrew character creation options I provide are allowed. Unearthed Arcana can be used, under DM discretion.
