From my perspective of a heavy roleplayer, Sov is a great and fantastic DM who values setting a beautiful scene and allowing people to sink into it as far as they wish. He rarely stumbles and often flourishes in the chaos of the moment, offering both fun and somber moments with expert poise. Gentle and kind, he is often very fair. All persons are welcome into his table, so long as they are polite and respectful! Combat is kept simple so it doesn't bog down. (For those similar to me who do not enjoy it as much) Still, it does happen. And to dramatic effect! Albeit less emphasized, his ability to weave a perilous combat is regardless quite effective. A large mixture of theatre of the mind and plain board layout. Though, with his narrative skill, any encounter is still quite fun and often a playground for more storytelling from both sides. Sov also genuinely takes the time to incorporate player choice and their backgrounds into the narrative with surprising and satisfying revelations. Each week I am greeted with a deeply rewarding experience, leaving me pining for the next session.
Truly a passionate and fun DM. Maria is incredibly patient and open to all sorts of ideas. If you're looking for a DM who likes to emphasize creativity, roleplaying, and storytelling above all else - I think you can't find one as talented as Maria. She puts a lot of care into her performances and can create an exciting immersive atmosphere. Her tables are all about creating a positive atmosphere, where players can explore and not feel restricted or forced down a restrictive narrative. I can wholeheartedly say she is one of the best DMs I have sat in games with.
So far, a great, robust package. Lou is really fun and lenient DM. Quite fair with the rules. He likes to do voices and create an air of atmosphere in the session, which I greatly appreciate. The production of the maps and sound design in the different zones is on quite a high level. On the level of one of my past DM's, who was the regional coordinator of Adventure's League in my area. Will let the players explore at their own pace, and gives warning if something might not go their way without much punishment. (though that may vary on the tone of campaign) He often takes time outside of sessions to answer questions, and listen to feedback or suggestions. Now, regarding the moment to moment of the games. Some sessions will involve more active player roleplay, while others are more focused on the contents of module at hand. So there is a nice mix. There is clear experience in his actions. He just as easily steps back from the spotlight to allow the players to act out personal scenes, as he does in reigning the chains in if the game space gets too chaotic. He is also quite inclusive, and has many safety precautions for making sure players feel comfortable in his games. Overall, two thumbs up!
