About the adventure
Welcome to Rota! A high narrative wartime drama of survival, intrigue, and power! Warring gods have shattered the world into floating disks, each ruled by a controlling deity. Their eternal conflict drags mortals into unending war. You are one such mortal—survive the no-man’s lands, uncover secrets, and rise to become the hero Rota needs, whether through violence, diplomacy, or both. This game is a gritty, roleplay-focused adventure inspired by WWI trench warfare, eldritch horror, and high fantasy. You’ll navigate the battlefields of divine conflict, broker uneasy alliances, and face the terrifying unknowns of a broken world. Rota is my original setting, where familiar fantasy races are scattered across a world fractured by divine war. Each disk is a god’s domain, and every faction fights for survival and supremacy.

Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
Rules as Written (RaW)
Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.

How to prepare
- Join the Discord server. - Download the AboveVTT extension for Chrome. - Ensure their camera and microphone are working before the start of play.
What I provide
I provide D&D Beyond content for character creation, AboveVTT for maps and gameplay, and Discord for voice and video chat. To enhance immersion, I use character voices and ambient music. I generally follow rules as written (RAW) but am open to justified exceptions that enhance the game.
Gameplay details
This game will explore many subjects related to war-based trauma and violence. While it will not include real-world religions, it will touch on themes of religion and cults. Topics That Will Not Be Included: - Non-consensual content of any kind. No mentions or associations with it will be made in the game. - Torture will not be played out in-game. While some themes of psychological or spiritual torment may be present, there will be no scenes or direct references to such events. Veiled Subjects: - Violence toward children - Cruelty toward animals All other lines and veils will be established during Session 0. We will also use Stars and Wishes to celebrate moments in the game and provide guidance at the end of each session. At any time, if a player feels uncomfortable, they are welcome to step back from the game or use an X or N in chat to indicate that they would like the scene to stop or take a different direction. This game is meant to be a welcoming and inclusive space for all players. Any form of sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, or other discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated. Everyone at the table deserves respect, both in and out of character.

Create a character in the D&D Beyond campaign: Character Creation Guidelines for level 2 Characters 2024 Rules Stats: Standard Array HP: Fixed Select from starting equipment No homebrew content. 50 starting gold, which can be used to purchase things beyond starting equipment before session 0. Publicly available sheets *Backstory and the like will be taken care of during session 0
