Year Zero - The Blood Wars Final Battle
The City of Tervin is a melting pot of cultures and ideologies, especially now, during the celebration of the royal wedding, all eyes are on Tervin.
About the adventure
Greetings! My name is Ariel Gaspar and I am a professional DM of the Foco Arcano channel. I've been playing RPGs since I was 7 years old and became a full-time pro DM 4 years ago. This will be my first campaign using SPG, and I can't hide the excitement! This campaign will be set in the homebrew world of Earan, where the character will get to explore it all, from the streets of great cities, the whispers from the halls of kings, to the hidden cults that are trying to change the world forever. The first few levels of this campaign will serve as an introduction to the setting, giving players time to discover their place and preferences there, and level 5 onwards the plot will thicken! The way I run my games is the antagonists make their moves based on the Players interactions and actions. That means the players have more power on where to go or what to do, molding the campaign based on their decisions. Many of the NPCs will have their own goals and agendas and could become friends or foes, again, depending on the players decisions. If you're looking for a long term campaign, inspired by A Song of Ice and Fire and on Elder Scrolls Oblivion, this might be the game for you!

About me
Greetings, adventurers! My name is Ariel Gaspar and I'm a DM from Brazil! I'm a big fan of medieval fantasy so D&D 5e and Tormenta20 are my favorite games to play. But I also an available to learn to play any system the players desire. You can check my stream and games VODs on twitch and youtube, both as Foco Arcano (Foco Arcano VODs on the latter). Check on my weekly tables and talk to me, so we can play together!

Proficiencies
Players say this GM is great at:
Rule of Cool
Inclusive
Creativity
I've played with Ariel in 2 campaigns (1 ongoing). The first campaign was roughly 40 sessions before people's lives led to laying the game to rest. The current campaign (Fortuna Bay) has had 41 sessions. Ariel is good at engaging his players, weaving a good hook to draw you in and lead you deeper into the story he's crafting. He's talented at balancing combat with roleplaying/character development opportunities. He's also got experience in handling interpersonal conflicts amongst players in a way that makes all still feel welcome. Ariel is always prepared, with maps, music, and recaps if the players forget what happened since the previous session. He appreciates constructive criticism that helps him become a better DM/GM and provide you with an experience that keeps you happy. I would highly recommend at least giving him a chance to be the DM for your next campaign!
Creative, solid DM, knows how to play according to rule of cool and not against the players. Values storytelling and worldbuilding, even coming from a player. Good narrator for creative players seeking to have fun with their more out-of-the-box ideas and characters. As inclusive as someone could get, really.
I've been playing with Foco Arcano for at least 2 years now, and you'll be impressed by Ariel's storytelling ability. In addition, the freedom to create characters and explore the world is exceptional and a great advantage of playing with Foco Arcano. Stop questioning, come play now!
I want to highlight all the qualities the site provided to describe Ariel’s profile. I’ve been playing since 2013, and I admit I’m quite picky when it comes to finding a good GM for an RPG session. Ariel is an EXCELLENT storyteller, and I couldn’t recommend anyone better for your game right now—especially if you’re a new player or someone looking for long-term fun. I just FINISHED a 2.5-year campaign he ran, and I will never forget it!!!
Character creation
Creating your character
I suggest you bring two or three character concepts to session zero to see what better fits the party. The party doesn't need to be "balanced" (you don't need to play a cleric or healer if the party doesn't have one; if no one has healing magic then health potions will become more common, and so on for each "role" of the game). We will how each concept fit with the initial adventure hooks I have in mind. For character sheets we can create them directly into Foundry, using point buy and discuss which of the 2024 rules we can start using. All official content is good to use, even MTG settings or content from CR, Dragonlance, etc. For homebrew content I have some in my setting already, and content from Valda's Spire of Secrets, the Blood Hunter and from the Dungeon Dudes books are good to use. Other homebrew has to be analyzed before the game starts and is subjected to nerfs.
The party currently is composed of Wretch, the charismatic yet simple Kobold Cleric; Kash, the calm and straightforward Elf Monk and Melika, the hearty and cordial Bard/Wizard of noble status.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A good microfone and a PC that runs Foundry smoothly. If you're a beginner at the game I will help you to set it all.
What Ariel Gaspar brings to the table
The game will be run in my discord server, where, if you want, you can chat with players of other games set in the same world, and players from other parts of the world as well. For VTT we will use Foundry with a couple of modules. Some maps are of my own making using Inkarnate, others will be from premium map creators I support. There is also soundtrack that I will control to set each scenes emotions. I try my best to voice each NPC distinctively (I'm no VA, just a RP lover hehe) and most of the important NPCs have their own Personality traits, ideals, bonds and flaws which I use as guidelines to roleplay them. Combat can be adjusted as the players preferences, I like creating challenging encountes but I do also have fun by making them simpler nonetheless.
Homebrew rules
I intent to play the 2024 as close as we can get, while still keeping the golden rule above all. But some minor tweaks can be applied if everyone agrees.

How Ariel Gaspar creates a safe table
We will discuss any and all lines and veils in a session zero in call or, if the players prefer, they can send their limitations directly to me and I'll make sure the game will run smoothly
