About the adventure

You are new to adventuring, but not to conflict. You may be a political dissident, a smuggler or salvager, or a political or religious refugee. Whatever your background, you have found you way to Heap, a recently discovered ruin on the bottom of the sea floor. Heap is a place of promise and new beginnings, and for an adventurer such as yourself, there is plenty of work to be had. Perhaps you want to explore Heap itself and discover its origins. You may want to join a spy network, running counterintelligence to route out religious zealots. Maybe you feel called to the frontlines of a secret war that has been raging for centuries. All of these options, and more, are available in this sandbox campaign. Welcome to Geria, The Frozen Star.

About me

I want to host games because I love collaborative story telling. My focus as a GM is to foster healthy and trusting relationships that enable me and my players to take those satisfying big swings that make great stories.

Character creation

Creating your character

In order to ensure your character's backstory is represented in the campaign, I will provide multiple character prompts players can mix and match when creating their character. At least one prompt must be used in character creation, which will begin at session 0. My go-to for stats is a heroic roll: 4d6 rolled 7 times, reroll 1s, drop lowest d6, drop lowest stat. We will begin play at level 1, and characters will be created using D&D Beyond. All content on D&D Beyond that I have unlocked is open and available for character creation/customization.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a mic, with a webcam strongly encouraged. Players will also need accounts on Discord and D&DBeyond (both of which are free). I will provide a campaign handout document through GoogleDocs which will need to be filled out by the end of session 0.

What Tom "FenixFire" Memmott brings to the table

I bring my D&D Beyond collection, ambient music, and character voices to every table I sit at. I am an avid supporter of letting the dice tell their story, so I never fudge my own DM rolls. That being said, you are the teller of your character's story, and you choose when that story ends.

Safety

How Tom "FenixFire" Memmott creates a safe table

Player safety and trust is more important than any story beat or npc interaction, so I am more than willing to retcon anything that breaks that. Boundaries are there to protect us. They don't hinder creativity, they foster it.
