About me

Hello everyone, I am a Dungeon Master, Keeper, Games Master or Narrator for a bunch of games that I run professionally. I love playing and running role playing games as well as the work that goes into making them immersive, fun, interactive and challenging experiences. I'd love to run a game for you and hope to see you at a gaming table in the future, virtual or otherwise. My games are an exciting mix of acting, exploring, crunchy game mechanics as well as world building and story telling. I use music, dynamic lighting, wonderful art and imagery, game design and funny voices all to make the game come alive and entertain.

Mark is patient and welcoming to new players, while still providing an entertaining experience for returning players. He has developed a scenario that works really well to integrate new and established players into the story (stories, really) and offers a lot of scheduling flexibility for those who might not be able to commit to the same time slot every week. Game play was a fun and collaborative experience. It felt like Mark was invested in our success, as he seemed as excited as any of the players when our characters acted creatively and accomplished our goals.

Mark is one of the BEST GMs I’ve played with. He provides great visual aids, great story telling, makes sure any play of any level is involved and most importantly he is respectful and fun. Also a big deal is the personal attention he gives each player when it comes to character creation and in game. Mark ensures everyone gets their moment and gets to have fun. I highly recommend anyone jump into his Uncharted Realms games for a one shot or continued stay. Another great thing is it’s tailored to be accessible for those with any type of schedule. Mark has legitimately covered all bases and makes sure any type of player can participate in the games provided.

I have had the pleasure of playing in Mark's roll20 games since I started playing Dungeons and Dragons 6 years ago. His campaigns have taken me from fighting Eldrazi titans in Zendikar, attempting an escape from Castle Ravenloft; to exploring uncharted realms off the Sword Coast and telling stories together in my beloved Middle Earth. Every one of his games has been unique, exciting, at times terrifying, and always memorable. Mark is a GM that gets as excited for your characters, their backstories, and their unfolding legend as you do and puts an incredible amount of time and thought into making worlds crying out for adventure. I am increasingly grateful for the memories made at Mark's table and highly recommend him as a GM for anyone, of any experience level, wanting to tell collaborative stories that you'll talk about for years to come. I look forward to meeting you there! Semper Fi, Andrew

So I can say at this point I’ve played more sessions with mark than I have any other dm over the past year. His stories are engaging, it’s a WestMarch style game so you can (and I have) find yourself on missions that are over your current group’s head. But his voices, his improv on characters make them memorable, some the basecamp as a whole have fallen in love with, some of the villains you feel to despise, others while you know they are the bad guys you can’t help but feel a sort of respect at their devotion to their cause (looking at you Tristan!), it keeps the mood going regardless of whether the setting mood is light hearted and fun, or serious and dire. He has a good pace and know’s how to keep the game rolling. Top it off with an excellent sense of humor and love of corny puns, you’ll never know what you’ll get in Mark’s world, but I can promise you won’t be disappointed! (Also WB Mr. T!)

I've played with several DMs through Start Playing and Mark's games are by far my favorite. He runs a West March style campaign which is rich with lore, 3 dimensional NPCs, and great running plot lines. He gives players room to drive the adventure and explore his world and yet is always prepared with something fun and engaging. Moreover, when players come up with cool character ideas or builds, his excitement and enthusiasm come through. He uses technology well to set the mood and more the game more engaging, and goes above and beyond with game prep to make sure it's another adventure to remember. His games fill up quickly and we'll in advance for a reason--he's the best out there!

I've played a hand full of different campaigns with Mark and have enjoyed every one of them. Story telling at its best, his ability to tell lighthearted stories that you can goof around with as well as serious toned stories that you can fully immerse yourself in is great. Out of the dozen or so GMs I've had though the years Mark was one of the few that has turned aspects of my backstory into major plot points which was super fun to see happen to me and other players.
