About the adventure

"Watch your back, shoot straight, conserve ammo, and never, ever, cut a deal with a dragon." -Street Proverb. Hoi Chums! If you've always wanted to play Shadowrun, but found the rulesets to be too complicated, then do I have the game for you. It's a Savage Worlds conversion of OG Shadowrun. We are beginning at the beginning of the Shadowrun setting arc in 2050. I have converted over the rules and have a Google Docs for the ruleset. Savage Worlds is a fast, furious, fun system that is rules-lite and medium crunch. For those of you who don't know, Shadowrun is a near future cyberpunk and gritty fantasy heist game. The players take on the roles of criminals and outlaws known as Shadowrunners to do jobs for the corporations and power players that run the world. Magic returned to the world in 2012 and for the last 3 decades, mages and shamans and adepts have become more common. Creatures from fantasy and the races of Tolkien have returned as well (Elves, orks, trolls and dwarves). Cybernetics are commonplace and the internet is now the Matrix, a full 3D VR experience. Shadowrunners are zeroed, they don't exist in databases and as such, are the perfect operatives for dirty jobs that never see the light of day. You begin as a newcomer to the city and it is up to you how you make your way. Will you become a Street Legend or will you be another casualty of the Emerald City? It's up to you to decide. Teams are made up of specialized roles, including Face (the negotiator and persuasion specialist) Street samurai (Mercenaries with cybernetic augmentations and training) Riggers (Master wheelmen and drone operators) Deckers (Hackers who run the Matrix for paydata) Mages (Formally trained hermetic mages who can summon elementals) Shamans (Followers of a spirit totem) Adepts (Physical magic users who use their magic to compete with the cybered up samurai) This will be a full campaign starting in Seattle in 2050 using the 4th edition ruleset and the 2050 setting book in conjunction with the Savage Worlds ruleset. I love the setting of Shadowrun but the mechanics are very rules heavy and crunchy which is why I'm using a homebrew version using Savage Worlds. I will provide all playing materials. So Far.. Session 1: Sonny and Cai inadvertently save a fixer's niece and a store gets blown up Session 2: Planning a Hit Session 3: Successful Run and on to the next one Currently the duo is on a bodyguard job, having to watch a man with a price on his head for the next 3 days. Session 4: Bodyguard Job success Session 5: Pickup Job for a Kolmetz, a weird guy in the Barrens. Session 6: Bottled Demon, part 2 IF this sounds like your kind of fun, join us. And thanks for reading all this. Happy Gaming!

About me

Hi! I'm Shawn but I go by Murphy on the webs. I have been a GM for roughly 30 years and ran/played a wide variety of games and systems. Disclaimer: I am primarily a horror/modern/near future GM. I am learning D&D 5E but I am newish to that particular system. That being said, I am open to running custom games and modules from whatever system provided I'm given some advance notice to prep. Thanks in advance. What I Provide: *A chill virtual table where YOU are the stars of the show *A friendly, inclusive atmosphere *A shared collaborative story and sandbox to play in What I Expect: I have a campaign rules document that I normally read aloud during Session Zero and discuss so there are no misunderstandings or problems later down the road. Rule #1: DON'T BE A JERK (Wheaton's Law paraphrased). I realize that we might be strangers to each other, but we are here to have fun and one person hogging the spotlight or cheating or trying to kill everything regardless of consequences is being a jerk. Don’t do that. This rule also applies to me as the Gamemaster. I am not going to actively screw your characters. I honestly don't care about MY story. I'm just providing a framework for y'alls tale. Rule #2 You are a HERO Even if you are playing a cold emotionless scarred veteran, ultimately you are one of the Good Guys. You should keep in mind that your actions in game will have consequences and repercussions in the game world. You will find it easier to get along in my worlds as heroes rather than villains. Rule #3 You are on a TEAM You are on a team. You don't have to like everyone in your crew but you do have to work with them to survive. Lone wolves tend to die quickly in my games without support. Everyone has things they excel at and Everyone will get there shining moments. Also unless you have REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD reasons, don't betray your posse or you might find yourself out in the cold or swingin' from a rope. Rule #4 Leave the Real World at the Door. I know we are living in interesting times, but discussions of politics/religion/real world events are not allowed at my table. We are here to escape all that. In addition, my virtual table is open to everyone regardless of race, color, creed, gender identity, etc etc. We are here to have fun and tell awesome stories. Rule #5 Share and Share alike You don't have to share your loot but unless you are making your own food, providing your own transportation, and guarding your own back while you sleep, you are being a greedy jerk. See Rule #1 Rule #6 Have Fun. If you aren't having fun/ Have OOC issues with the ways someone is acting, let me know. I can police the game and if necessary remove the problem. Rule #7 The GM is always right. Don't start arguments IC if you disagree with something that I rule on. You don't have to cheat to win. You win by becoming Heroes. Because Heroes become Legends and Legends live forever. That being said if you have an issue with a ruling, we can discuss it OFF CAMERA and OUT OF GAME. I am always open to house ruling something if your idea seems more cool or makes more sense. I use Discord for voice chat but also set up question channels, meme channels, and in character RP channels as I know that some folks communicate better by typing it out. I use Roll20 but I am looking at expanding out to other VTTs. I am flexible and will accomodate your needs as best as I can. My games tend to be R rated but I will be using Session Zero, XNO cards and Stars/Wishes. The priority is for YOU to be having fun in a safe space. Should you decide to give my game a try, you will receive links to Discord and roll20 and I will do character creation/session zero before the scheduled game. Thanks in advance for reading all of this and happy gaming!

Character creation
Creating your character

Characters will be created before the games starts. Once you book, you will have access to Discord and Roll20 for all character generation. We will be using a homebrew system using Savage Worlds with Shadowrun overlaid on top. I'm doing it this way because Savage Worlds is an easy system to learn and combat runs fast. That being said if you are familiar with the setting and want to create metavariants or other unique characters, we can discuss it. The game is set in 2050 so gear/cyberware/spells will be limited that era of Shadowrun.

The current party

This is the start of a campaign using the 2050 setting from Shadowrun and the Savage Worlds engine. It is mostly SW with a bit of homebrew and I'm flexible to change things.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

You will need *A microphone headset and Discord for voice (discord.com) *A Roll20 account (Roll20.net) *A good attitude and be ready to have fun You don't need to know the rules and character creation will be handled with a free session zero before hand.

What Murphy brings to the table

I provide: *A chill, fun environment to commit imaginary crimes *Ruleset and tokens for the virtual tabletop *Free Session Zero to do character creation I provide the backdrop of the sprawl for your characters to immerse in. I will make up runs but it up to you how you plan and execute them. In addition, I have 20 questions for backstory because my role is to provide a sandbox to tell YOUR story. I'm a huge fan of my players and I believe the Rule of Cool and awesome moments trump any RAW. I have campaign rules on my main GM profile that have to be agreed to, but imagination is the limit. No one in my games has plot armor and I don't believe in running GM PCs If you're new to Shadowrun, I'm patient with new players and willing to teach you the system and setting. I try to make my NPCs unique and they are living, breathing characters with their own goals and agendas. The world will react to your actions but it also moves on without you. It is up to you to determine your impact and what you interact with.

Homebrew rules

The entire system is essentially a homebrew conversion of Shadowrun 1st-4th edition to Savage Worlds.
