Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage | (Level 5-20)
About the adventure
In the city of Waterdeep rests a tavern called the Yawning Portal, named after the gaping pit in its common room. At the bottom of this crumbling shaft is a labyrinthine dungeon shunned by all but the most daring adventurers. Known as Undermountain, this dungeon is the domain of the mad wizard Halaster Blackcloak. Long has the Mad Mage dwelt in these forlorn depths, seeding his lair with monsters, traps, and mysteries—to what end is a constant source of speculation and concern. Dungeon of the Mad Mage takes your characters from level 5 all the way to level 20. So if you've wanted to play a high level character, this is the campaign where you'll get to. The game makes for a great fantasy adventure, letting you explore an extensive dungeon with numerous diverse and uniquely themed floors, fight monsters, but also meet interesting NPCs, as not everything and everyone you meet in the dungeon is an enemy. While a dungeon crawl by it's very nature, DotMM offers more than just combat, and has no shortage of opportunities for meaningful RP. If you're looking at this, and thinking about joining after the campaign has already started, worry not! DotMM allows you to jump in at any point, without having to worry about what you might have missed prior to joining.

About me
Hey, I'm Tilted (he/him/they/them), and I'm a 28 year old IT student with a love for roleplaying, improv, acting and fantasy. As such I've been drawn to tabletop gaming since I first learned about it. It's something I'm passionate about, and that I love to share with other people. Whether you're a veteran player, or playing for the first time in your live, you're welcome at my table. And if you're new, I'm happy to take my time, to teach and help you with learning how things work. I've been DMing in various systems (but mostly Pathfinder 1e, and D&D 5e) for close to 10 years now, both IRL and online, initially on Roll20 and now on Foundry. And now I'm here, to take you on your next adventure.

Knows the Rules
Storytelling
He was first dm i had. So he influenced me what a good dm is. He takes in to consideration the players ideas and includes backstories in to the campaigns. He's an easygoing and passionate about running games and prepares accordingly. Over the years he's improved as a dm. of course he's not a perfect dm he still makes mistakes but works with the players to overcome the issues after the sessions. So long story short he is the best dm i have had over the years.
Character creation
Creating your character
Character Creation will happen before and during Session 0 of the game. I generally sit down with every player individually prior to session 0 to start on character creation. That allows me to focus on one player at a time, when it comes to helping out with, or answering questions regarding character creation. It also means that we can discuss to which extent - if any - you would like to work out a backstory for your character, and what - if any- goals they might have in exploring the dungeon. You can still change your mind on what character you want to play up until and during the character creation portion of Session 0. Players can individually chose between rolling for their character's stats, Point-Buy and Standard Array. Generally speaking all official material is allowed. Third party and UA content, on a case by case basis, but if it's not completely unreasonable, I'll probably allow it. All three methods of stat generation are modified to give slightly better stats than they would normally AND you get a free feat too. The starting level is going to level 5. Starting equipment is the respective class starting equipment, 500 + 1d10x25 gold, and up to two magic items (limited to common & uncommon, and subject to DM approval) On Request, I also offer pregenerated characters.
Weekly on Thursdays. New Players welcome! The party is close to finishing the 6th Floor of the Dungeon. Game paused after losing 2 players due to scheduling changes. We will pick back up as soon as we're back to 3+ players.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
As the game is using Discord for Voice Chat, a Discord Account, and a working microphone are required. A stable internet connection is also highly recommended. Additionally the hosting service used to run the Foundry instance, requires a free account. You will also have to join the game itself. While a fundamental understanding of the rules is advised, if you're entirely new to the game, I'll take the time to explain things both before we start, as well as as we go. As part of the safety tools I'm employing, I use an anonymous questionnaire to get an overview of the groups Veils/Lines before Session 0. A link to that questionnaire is provided in the discord server used for coordinating the game, and you should take a few minutes to fill it out before Session 0. After signing up, contact me in Discord so I can add you to the server, or join via the link provided in prep material.
What Tilted brings to the table
A foundry instance that's always available, with plenty of modules adding features, as well as compendiums containing everything you need for character creation. Detailed, and immersive Maps, fully configured with dynamic lighting And of course a deep understanding of the game, and years of experience. In short: Everything required to embark on a fun adventure. I also run the game. That's kind of why I'm here.

Safety
How Tilted creates a safe table
Gameplay: Combat difficulty out of the box is challenging, but rarely lethal, but I'm happy to adjust that, if the group either wants more crunchy and difficult combat...or if they'd prefer to remove the risk of character death entirely. The same thing applies for the level of Roleplay, and Puzzles. I try to adapt to what the group as a whole prefers, so things like the combat difficulty, ratio of pr to combat, etc will be fine tuned based on everything discussed in Session 0. Session 0 will be used to go over Variant/House rules, and managing expectations in general, as well as to go over the results of the provided checklist and the safety tools. Speaking of Safety Tools: I'm using a FoundryVTT Module for X, N and O cards, in a digital, and anonymous form. Lines and Veils are determined based on the Consent Checklist (which I provide a link to) Should those turn out to not be enough, I also always have an open ear for my players in between sessions, if they have any concerns or issues they would like to bring up. The campaign uses milestone levelling, sessions are weekly online, using Discord and FoundryVTT. Disclaimer: The below list of Content warnings is erring on the side of caution. Not all of the content mentions will necessarily appear in the game, and some of it might only appear under very specific circumstances. They aren't central aspects of the game, and can be entirely avoided, but are mentioned here just in case, because they could possibly come up in the course of some events.
