Into the Wastes: A Blasted Lands Adventure!
About the adventure
Hello there! This is a DnD 5e game in The Blasted Lands, a setting of my own design, where the City of Bastion leaves a 300-year Temporal Bubble to find itself the greatest remaining city in a world ruined by elemental apocalypse, which leaves the landscape a chaotic and ever shifting roil of power and madness. The first session (of what I plan to make a whole campaign) will see you, adventurers working with the Bastion Explorers Guild, travel south to find the legendary Onyx Spire, a pure-black tower that hopefully still holds the golem factories of the mad wizard Ilrath the Grim. This will be a Lvl 1 session for 3-6 players. Any officially published materials may be used for character creation. The tone will be dark, yet hopeful; the world suffered greatly under The Remaking, but Bastion's reemergence is ample opportunity for the world to recover. The theme is the conflict between the old world, and the new; Bastion is the last pre-apocalypse city, and will no doubt butt heads with some of the ideologies and factions of the Blasted Lands The actual gameplay itself will be pretty standard 5e fare, combat and NPC interaction being mixed in with puzzles and other interesting set pieces. We will be using a battle map, with standard rules of combat, and 1 square equaling 5 feet, as is traditional.

About me
Greetings, Weary Traveller! My name is Connor, and I have been running, playing, and occasionally designing Role Playing Games for about 12 years now. I pride myself on my story-telling ability, my ability to think on my feet, and above all, my ability to center the fun and experience on the players. I am familiar with dozens of systems, but if you have a more obscure system you want me to run, let me know and I'll brush on it and run something for you! Happy Gaming!

I'm in two games with Connor and they are an a m a z i n g GM. I've had around 6 or 7 other GMs for various games, and Connor's skill and creativity- just general ability to think on their feet and still come up with really really great scenes and dialogue- absolutely tops all the rest. I come out of every game wanting to see what happens next. When you're regularly daydreaming about your PC at work is when you KNOW you're in a good game. Something in common with both of the games I'm in- Connor focuses on not just on the plot as a whole, but on our characters individually. It makes you really care about your PC, and put time and effort into their development. Connor is also *super* good at plot twists and hiding secrets, and this only encourages theorizing and character development. They're also very good at making you care about NPCs. If you ever have concerns about anything, Connor is a very fair GM and will be willing to hear you out. They're a very chill and funny person to hang out with and I really highly encourage people to hire them.
Phenomenal DM. Knows how to keep a plot moving, keeps things balanced with the RP and combat aspects, crafts engaging stories, is fully willing to work with you on how to express your creativity in-game and is genuinely enthusiastic about your choices and the way they impact the grand scheme of things.
The best review I can give? It’s usually at least slightly boring to hear descriptions of games you’re not in. Connor’s games are my exception. Connor is a phenomenal storyteller and GM. They have a knack for balancing sweeping plots with individual character beats, and gameplay mechanics with drama. Connor also happens to be one of the funniest people I’ve ever met, and channels that into witty NPCs, improv jokes, and terrible (amazing) one-liners.
