2e review: Storytelling: 2e is a system known for its crunchiness. Skills are well defined, and group play is thoroughly encouraged through tight roles and numerical scaling. So it's common for the story to suffer as a result that's not the case here. Ego does a great job of pacing the narrative and allowing for character moments within the system . Game balance: Ego doesn't go about encounters with the standard 2e boss/lackey/mob approach. He prefers to have encounters that use more classic environmental hazards and tactical opportunities while still being within the experience budget. It leads to slower combats, but also allows for more builds to shine, so it feels more unique across the games I've played. Would definitely recommend. Mechanics/technique: 2e is a system that relies heavily on foundryvtt to be a palatable system to run. The automation it provides along with the quick reference for conditions/interactions is invaluable in smooth administration of the game. Ego (at the time of writing) is still getting their bearings with the software. So while they have a great understanding of the system, their is a little bit of "static" when the game is ran. I'm sure this will naturally lessen. Overall, I'd definitely recommend playing in one of his games.
