Played an introduction to Vampire: The Masquerade with Vyn. He did an excellent job explaining mechanics, sharing basic lore, and making us feel like we were very in charge of our characters. Vyn did a fantastic job of making the world feel vibrant and alive. The NPCs were a mixture of interesting, believable, and larger-than-life at the same time. I was invested in the scenario and felt wholly engaged in all of the scenes. Vyn let us have ample time to roleplay and was able to guide us along without making us feel like we were being forced to ignore or forget anything.
Dice is a very flexible game master, happy to incorporate the ideas and desires of his players into the game at large. He tells a larger-than-life story that harkens to familiar themes and concepts, as well as uses callbacks to events and NPC's in the world that the PC's have interacted with. By and large, Dice is inventive, clever, and not afraid to let things happen beyond what might have been expected. He is a story driven, mechanics-oriented Gamemaster who strives to make his players time enjoyable, memorable, and fun. I would certainly recommend his games to both novice and veteran players.
I've played my share of Star Wars RPG systems, ranging from West End Games to Saga d20 edition and this is, by far, the greatest, most collaborative and fun version of the game I've played! Character options in the base book are numerous and varied and there is a ton of additional content to further tailor your experience based on what you and your players really want to play. Feel like a cinematic hero as you take on squads of easily-defeated minions. Improve your skill ranks to compensate for naturally weak characteristics and show that you can be just as good through training, study and practice as your Skywalkers are naturally. The system uses fun and funky narrative dice which, intimidating at first, give the players at the table a lot of flexibility and leeway in how to further narrate just what happens at the table! The only downside to this system is the inherent difficulty you'll have in finding the expansion sourcebooks, as new printings are sparse.
Customizable, intuitive, and lots of fun! This is the game system that gives crunchy players that hit they want, while simultaneously allowing RP or fluff players to do their thing in the same sandbox! Fabula Ultima is a living, breathing system that is constantly being improved, updated, and made even greater through it's own community and the love and care that the creators put into it! With mechanics and tools built in to allow gamemasters to effectively, efficiently, and fluidly utilize "yes, and" or "no, but" mechanics, Fabula Ultima is a game that can go in many surprising directions, but still leave all of the participants (player and GM, alike) craving more of the story!
