About me
I’m a Longtime game master, not a forever dm (but pretty close lol) I joined to start playing both to host games AND to actually be a player occasionally lol been playing D&D over 40 years but I am curious to play at least a one shot of a few other games including Call of Cthulhu, Star finder, and possibly switching to DC20 (when it releases).

Mike runs a good game! I'd recommend one of his games if you're interested in trying Call of Cthulhu for the first time. I'm a fellow GM here on start playing with plenty of ttrpg experience but I'm fairly new to COC which seems to use more theater of the mind than I'm used to. This was NOT a problem in Mikes game he provided enough Maps and reference images that it was easy to follow what was going on. He knowledgeable about the game and easy to get along with. I look forward to playing at his table again.
I believe Hatman is good keeper for call of Cthulhu. He was very knowledgeable about the time period(s) we were playing in and willing to explain things well. He leans toward a "theater of the mind" style of play, when had some trouble visualizing what was happening. He was understanding and willing to work in more visual references for me. I come from a d&d background (new to CoC)
As soon as I found start playing I joined a couple of games to experience the site as a paying customer before hosting games myself, I was lucky enough to join Bubbys Curse of Stroud and even with some pre existing knowledge about this adventure Bubbys Revamped version of the source material was brilliant! He managed to subvert my expectations in a good way. He’s very consistent and fair with rules mostly rules as written with a few GOOD house rules (that I’ve included in my own games) and it’s unusual to teach an old dog like me a new trick (that I actually use lol) he’s always very prepared and organized creating an immersive world with tons of plot hooks that ALL seem too important to ignore. His NPCs are unique and interesting. They’re fun to interact with i believe even for new or shy players. He’s a great GM (I don’t give that compliment lightly) I would definitely recommend him if you’re looking for your next DM!
As soon as I found start playing I joined a couple of games to experience the site as a paying customer before hosting games myself, I hadn’t planed to be a player to long (I usually prefer to be the dm) but I was lucky enough to choose Doug’s Dragon of Icespire peek campaign. I was surprised by how much fun I had as a player IN HIS game, and we’ve been playing for over a year now. Doug kept a fairly simple pre-written adventure for low level characters interesting and fresh (even for an old timer like myself). He has always been fair and consistent with rules (mostly as written) while still acknowledging “the rule of cool” when appropriate for the situation. When we’ve done unexpected things he still provided a fun game without limiting our options, while still keeping the adventure on track. As a long time game master myself, I know that isn’t always easy lol He’s been a great GM (I don’t give that compliment lightly) I would definitely recommend Doug if your looking for your next DM!
