About me
I've been playing D&D since 1984. I started with the red box set and moved through 3e. In my 30s I took a break, but I'm back now with 5e (which I've been playing for about 3 years now). I'm an experienced story teller that loves roleplaying adventures.

The good, the bad, and the ugly of ToA The good: It's a really great campaign that has a little bit of game play to suit everyone. It's got deep lore. It's got hexcrawl mechanics. It's got lots of opportunity to roleplay. It's got monsters the players don't often encounter making combat feel fresh. It's got ZOMBIE DINOSAURS! To quote one of my players when fighting a zombie T-Rex "That is the coolest thing ever!" The bad: The hook is really bad. Rewrite it. Get rid of the ticking clock mechanic, it only discourages exploration of a world full of weird stuff. The ugly: ToA of designed to be a bit of a meatgrinder in parts. Make sure you communicate this with your players in a session zero. There are lots of parts of this that aren't fair or balance to be fair... This is not a bug though, it's a feature. So, just be upfront about that.
An experienced, intelligent GM who has clearly given dedicated a lot of time to a thoughtful examination of how to run games to the benefit of the players. I took a session with him geared at other GMs for improving our skills and as an experienced GM myself, I was able to learn quite a lot. So, if you're looking for a paid game, choosing Elias as a GM is a prudent and sound investment.
Bar-D was a great storyteller and patient as we all learned a new system (Daggerheart). Helpful and responsive to questions. Took his time with each of us to answer in a clear manner. Pleasant and all around seems like a well rounded and experienced GM. Would definitely play any of his other games, anytime.
