About me

I am a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. A person who's been reading D&D rules since 1980, but only playing the game since 2026. Why? Who knows. But if you want to play with someone in the quantum superposition of extremely knowledgeable about the game and knowing nothing about it, I'm your guy. Also, I tell awful jokes.

Devin ran a one-shot of his own design, and managed to convey a dark and sinister environment, with an interesting mystery uncovered with excellent pacing.

Cake ran a Spelljammer one-shot very smoothly, adjusting to our tactics and honoring the rule of cool. It led to a lot of opportunities for the players to try clever tactics, the sorts of things the rules don't directly address, but which Cake ran in ways that seemed fair.

Mike ran a murder-mystery one-shot quite gamely, shining during the interrogation scenes, which I find are particularly difficult to run, given that you need to give away the correct amount of information and yet be responsive to player tactics. I was impressed with the scenario, and with Mike's willingness to put up with a number of bad jokes.

I had great fun playing a one-shot with DM Ronarky, an underwater adventure where the wet and unusual environment impacted play in unusual ways, causing us to have to adjust our tactics. He created a good sense of mystery, and ran the game very smoothly, giving time for the players to do a lot of stuff.

Oscar ran a one-shot based on the movie Labyrinth, and did an excellent job theming the adventure to capture the spirit of the film.
