I've been playing with Fox since late July 2025, and have been loving it! He was my first StartPlaying DM and really set the bar high. He makes sessions fun, whether it's silly moments like fighting double decker bears, or political moments trying to talk sense into the council of a massive city. His world is expansive, and he makes sure you have a place in it, you create it just as much as he does. I am not the best at leaving reviews, but overall 10/10 would recommend.

I did not have a great time with Pear. When it comes to gameplay, our campaign (Axore Institute of Magic) was labeled as Roleplay Heavy and Combat Lite, Roleplay Heavy being repeated several times, however come playtime, a lot of attempted roleplay was shortened or skipped. We were also told that the campaign was not in fact Combat Lite. Key details for the setting and characters were left out until majority of character creation had been completed in session 0, such as the setting being Modern, and that no matter our story, our parents were all alumni to the school. Ages were also almost forced without a word having been said until gameplay began. In our paid session 0, finishing character creation was rushed by Pear so we could get into the story, the story where before all of our characters had met, players last to go in our order were skipped. It is also worth mentioning that no safety tools were used as promised.

Rick was a terrific DM in the one-shot he ran for me and my friends! We played his Saving Kris Kracklemas holiday one-shot, and he gladly clarified rules, spells, and workings we didn't understand, without it feeling nitpicky or making us feel stupid. He kept down-to-earth and chill while still seeming excited for both sides of combat, making it entirely enjoyable to play and feeling like long-time friends excited for the crazy and weird! Loved the vibe, and I hope to play with him again!
