I had been playing a weekly game with DJ for half a year now when he asked if I would be interested in joining a game he was running that had started a couple weeks prior. I am three sessions in and very much enjoying myself. The first thing I noticed about DJ's DM style is how much he cares. He cares about the players, he cares about the player's characters, he cares about the NPCs, he cares about the lore. You can tell by the work he puts in how much he wants his players to enjoy their time. If you're a vibes player that is not heavy into RP, DJ can make you feel like an important part of the game. If RP is your passion, DJ has a host of characters for you to interact with. DJ allows characters to have very detailed backstories and works with them to make that backstory fit the narrative. I will update this after I've had more sessions, but based on my early experiences, as well as my knowledge of DJ from playing in a game with him as a PC, I am excited where this story goes, and I very much believe that if you choose DJ as your DM, you will have a great time.

Alex has done a great job of populating the world of Exandria with colorful characters and has empowered a diverse, fun-loving group to explore and question everything. Our first session was relatively straightforward, with some basic combat, and Alex did a good job of helping the newbies, myself included, get our feet wet. Subsequent sessions have seen Alex balance combat with exploration and discovery of lore. Descending into a dark ruin doesn't HAVE to mean combat, and Alex's understanding of that and willingness to let us use our non-combat skills to solve puzzles has been a blast. If you choose Alex as your GM, I honestly believe you will have a wonderful experience. Update 1/28/26 Above was my first review with Alex after around 6 sessions. I did not want to delete it because everything above still stands. What has changed is my appreciation for the game Alex runs. Even back then, I looked forward to it as it was new and everyone was pretty cool. I'm 28 sessions in now (I looked it up), and I can honestly tell you that this is my "home" game. This is the game where we all have a good time, and while I understand you need the right group, Alex gave us the chance to find ourselves both in a character as an individual or a group dynamic. If you want to just vibe, Alex gives you the chance to shine without having to big a role play persona. But IF you want to haggle every coin, chat with every NPC you come across, Alex is happy to oblige. So thank you to Alex for making the most amazing game for us. Its an absolute gem and I hope you have the same experience!

I have had three sessions with Noralf so far, but he's been brilliant as a GM. He responds to my many questions outside of sessions with a response time much quicker than the 1 hour average response time posted. He has a wonderful ability to bring the world to life, and is a clearly focused on letting his players live in the world and have fun within the game.
