About me
By day, I work in a non-profit. By night, I host 5e sessions... Well, some nights. Not every night! That'd be crazy, right? Imagine it... Wait. It's starting to sound pretty good, actually...? I am an easy going, open-minded, middle-aged guy with an overdeveloped imagination and I am not afraid to laugh at myself for it. This game feeds a part of my very core being in that way. I played a bunch of D&D when I was a teenager in the 90s, then took about a 25 year break and I'm back at it. My DM style and strengths are story-telling focused and role-play encouraged. I enjoy player agency and the improvisational gameplay that comes with it. Rule of cool, may apply. Outside of 5e, I hike, draw (@mralligator on YouTube), cook and bake, and play video games.

Mike is a really great GM. I'm not sure how intentional it is on his part, but I enjoy that there are frequently "theater of the mind" setups between map transitions. It allows me to focus on the story elements without being distracted by the visuals on the map in-the-moment. It's a great pacing tool and something I will think on and borrow for the very few sessions I run as GM. He leaves a lot of room for player agency but keeps the story going. I really appreciate his knowledge of the 5e system and the improvisation of characters in the setting.
