About Mike
Hey! I’m Mike — a laid-back UK-based DM (GMT) who loves wild ideas, emotional moments, and just the right amount of chaos. Like a lot of folks, I got into D&D during the pandemic by binging actual play shows — and I’ve been hooked ever since. Now I run games where storytelling leads the way, the dice add drama, and the players shape everything that happens next. I run story-first one-shots and mini-campaigns packed with big character moments, meaningful choices, and plenty of space for nonsense (the good kind). My style is all about collaboration — you bring the weird ideas, I’ll try and help make them epic. My tables are beginner-friendly, low-pressure, and perfect for players who care more about having fun than memorizing rules. Whether you’re into goofy antics, heartfelt arcs, or both, I’ve got you covered. New to D&D? Casual player who just wants a good time? You’re welcome at my table. Bring your backstory, your boldest ideas, and let’s build something unforgettable together.

I got started GMing...
after playing with a really cool group who welcomed me with open arms. I want to help create those groups and give people a bit of escapism and community in their week.
My favorite books are
the sort where it's fantasy, but doesn't take itself too seriously. In a world where magic runs rampant, you can't expect everything to be normal/logical! Terry Pratchett, Pierce Brown or Ben Aaronovitch are my go to authors and I usually have their audiobooks playing while I'm pottering around.
How Mike runs games
My games are laid-back, story-first, and all about creativity. Expect a flexible, fun-first experience where your wild ideas shape the world — and shenanigans are always welcome (as long as you can sell it in the story and the dice play nice). I adjust adventures around your characters, weaving backstories into the plot and giving space for roleplay — whether it’s heartfelt arcs or arguing with a goblin over sandwich rights. I run D&D 5e (2014 or 2024 rules) with a “rules matter, but fun matters more” approach. Beginners and casual players are always welcome — no accents or acting skills required. Just bring your ideas, roll some dice, and let’s tell a story worth remembering.

Rules are...
there to give structure, but should support the fun, not get in the way of a good time.
Mike's ideal table
My table is relaxed, story-first, and all about creativity. I aim to make my table as welcoming and low pressure as possible. I welcome LGBTQ+ players, neurodivergent folks, beginners, and casual players. No need for fancy voices or deep rules knowledge — just bring your imagination and a willingness to play. If you love collaborative storytelling, shenanigans with heart, and games where fun beats strict rules, you’ll feel right at home here.

I think it's a red flag when players...
start issuing red flags for perfectly normal behaviour! Everybody wants something different out of the game so lets talk about how to include everybody!
