Duncan is a strong storyteller, knows the rules well, and does a good job encouraging player creativity. I enjoyed many parts of the game because he made space for creative problem-solving and roleplay. Unfortunately, my experience ended abruptly and without prior communication. I woke up to a Discord message saying, “After some careful consideration, I’ve decided that my table is not the right fit for you. Best of luck finding a table that better suits you!” Before that message, I had not been told there were any concerns with how I was playing, communicating, or participating at the table. No issues had been raised with me privately, and I was not given an opportunity to adjust or understand what the concern was. From my perspective, I was playing cooperatively, trying to support the party, and engaging with the roleplay and social scenes in ways that had been encouraged during the game. Because of that, the removal felt sudden and confusing. I respect that every GM has the right

I joined expecting Session 1 and actual play, but the session ended up being mostly character brainstorming and setup with no real gameplay. While the listing did mention Session 0 and one-on-one onboarding, the session I booked was labeled Session 1, so I expected the campaign to actually begin. The session also ran shorter than the advertised 3 to 4 hours. My main issue was not that the GM wanted to make sure the group was ready. It was that, for a paid session, the format and expectations were not clear enough in advance. I also came away feeling that the session was not especially organized. This may be a better fit for players who are okay with a looser onboarding process, but it did not match what I was expecting from a paid first session.

What can I say about Nick? He cares about his players. He takes time and effort to craft encounters that he thinks the party will enjoy, and somehow seamlessly modifies Adventure Paths in a way that you'd never know he homebrewed the encounter. Honestly, I feel like everything he decides to customize is better for it and he could teach Paizo a thing or two about writing interesting encounters.

Has an interesting DMing style that makes for interesting encounters, and keeps the pace of the games moving. You'll definitely enjoy playing with Augur as you won't feel like things are boring or slow.

Has a very polished DMing style, that keeps the game flowing and moving. Does a decent job of giving personality to his NPCs, and knows the rules well. Overall, a GM that does a great job of respecting your time. Only reason why I left his game, is that I prefer a table that's a bit more flexible, allowing for RP banter between characters and his more process driven GM style made that feel hard for me to do organically.
