About Avix
Hello and welcome, I'm RW also known as Avix, I am a lover of many things including TTRPGs, video games, Fantasy, FanFiction, and more. My journey into tabletop RPGs began in early 2011, and since then I've been deeply involved in TTRPGs. With several years of experience as both a Game Master and player, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to the table. As a GM I love to craft not only immersive, beautiful worlds, but engaging stories with you. Stories that, through your in-game actions, backstories, choices, and more, focus on what we want to tell together. I invite you to join me as we create better worlds and stories.

How Avix runs games
I consider myself a "Power of the Player" GM, prioritizing player agency over strict adherence to canon (i.e. Preventing Order 66 in Star Wars and killing Palpatine) through your actions and choices during game play. I also enjoy getting to use your character's backstory, family members, and more to create dramatic moments, make the story more alive, and ensure that you feel included and that your actions/choices/etc. do indeed have an impact from the moment that the character is created. I lean towards a 60/40 split, favoring rich roleplay experiences while ensuring a healthy balance of combat. Occasionally I will provide house rules to enrich the experience. Every integral NPC in the story receives a unique voice from me, adding depth and immersion to our adventures. When crafting campaigns, I provide a framework with plenty of side hooks, empowering you to shape the story collaboratively and explore your own narratives alongside the main plot. While I will always love games in which we meet either in person or over voice (Discord/Google Meets/Etc.), I do also find games of a play-by-post nature to be rich and rewarding in the depth of their medium. Play-By-Post games that I run are in an asynchronous format to allow you and myself the ability to post when you are available to do so. I do require that all of us post at least three (3) times minimum per week to progress the story. I use Tupperbox to distinguish between Narrator and NPC posts, writing as closely as I can in the vernacular of the NPCs to provide their original voices and accents.

My games focus on...
World building, inclusivity, creating a living, breathing world with rich detail that encompasses not only what I have to offer, but also builds upon what the Players provide through their actions, expressed wishes/desires for what they would like to see, back stories and more.
Rules are...
I try to follow as closely to the system rules as I can while allowing players to enjoy their characters and the adventure. If a rule prevents fun, then that rule will be changed or otherwise made to where it does not prevent everyone at the table from having a great time.
When it comes to voices
I try to give NPCs who are integral to the story or who the Players tend to prefer over others their own voice and accent, with rich details to both their personalities and their heritage and life. I do not require that Players use voices/accents for their characters but I encourage when they do.
Avix's ideal table
My table is an open space where everyone is treated with respect and equality. Players who will fit in well are those who enjoy world building, delving deep into character back stories and story arcs while also working with other characters on the main goals, creating a living, moving, breathing world in which we all tell the story that we want to tell. Whether it's a Star Wars story or traditional medieval/fantasy, while I may have an overarching storyline that is the main plot of the game, my focus is more on the players and allowing them the freedom to not only expand upon what I have, but to ultimately have the adventure that they and the others desire and enjoy most. Whether that is taking down Palpatine, saving an empire, or even becoming pirates; the only requirements that I typically have are that A) it doesn't break the game, and B) everything must be done in game, you can plot and plan out of character, but you must do all of the planning, talks with NPCs and other characters, etc. during session and allow the dice and story to guide where it will go and how things play out.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
worldbuilding, living and moving worlds, character story arcs and backstories, enjoying a deep and immersive world that you help shape and reflect. Where what you and the other players enjoy and want to see are noted and respected.
I think metagaming...
Uncool and unwelcome at my tables. Metagaming is not fun to witness or to experience first hand, while you can ask questions or make suggestions based on knowledge that you may have about the world/universe/galaxy/etc. that we are all playing it, using it without learning in game is not allowed.
I think min/maxing...
Disrespectful and rude, while I can understand wanting to have the "best" character, a character without flaws and without real thought behind it is little more than a stick figure. God Mod/Mode is not an option I allow or offer.
