About me

I am RW or Avix as I go by on Discord and Roll20.net where I host the games that I run and occasionally where I go to play. I have been playing TTRPGs since 2011 though I have been playing RPGs since the late 90s. I have several years experience as a forever GM/DM as I am often the one running instead of playing. I have played and ran several systems including: Dungeons & Dragons 3.5e, Dungeons & Dragons 4e, Pathfinder 1e, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay Second Edition (WFRP2E), Dark Heresy Second Edition (DH2E), Star Wars d20 Revised Edition, A Song of Ice And Fire Roleplaying.

GM style

As far as ratios to combat and roleplay, I tend to prioritize roleplay over combat, but I do provide a fair share of both ranging usually around 60/40 Roleplay/Combat. I provide house rules for systems that I feel need tweaked or particular portions of systems that need tweaked. Depending on the system I will either award XP if it is a system where you purchase skills, abilities and attribute increases, otherwise in systems such as D&D I will tell you when you level up, usually within 3-4 sessions or depending upon storyline and ingame events. In games where there is a Canon such as Star Wars d20 or A Song of Ice and Fire Roleplaying I believe strongly in power of the player over power of the Canon. With that stated everything that the party wishes to change about the Canon events (i.e. Kill Papatine, Save Daenerys) must make sense to the story that is created and has to be done through actually playing out the game. I don't always do character voices for every character, but those that are integral to the story will on occasion get their own voice. Often when creating and running campaigns I will create the general story and several sidehooks to allow players their freedom to create the story that they and the other players wish to create together.
