I've worked with Corb consistently for 5 months, alongside in-person improv classes and it really opened up my scene work. He pushed me away from empty riffing to discover the relationships at the center of a scene to create memorable stories, utilizing exercises from Keith Johnston's 'Impro for Storytelling'. The immersive storytelling at the heart of ttrpg games, which creates moments that stay with you. One thing I'd never expected to encounter in his games from bringing out my 'theatre kid' was method acting bleed as I worked to match his energy. I was embarrassed that difficult topics, like family homophobia and death, effected me outside of sessions and left me depressed, looking for community to feel better and talk about it. It wasn't too long after expressing these feelings that the game fell apart. One of Corb's good friends mentioned he didn't want to deal w it. Corb encouraged me to look to other DMs to find the community that I need, which is disappointing but fair.
