I joined a campaign already in progress, which can be daunting, but the GM helped me to understand the tone of the existing group and create a character that would fit in and complement the existing party. He has created a very fun and welcoming environment, and the campaign thus far has had a good balance of roleplay, challenging combat, and plenty of room for innovative player solutions! Always willing to hear someone out on their plan, but also upholds the rules and is very fair in his rulings. He's also added life to the NPCs that have really made the world fun to engage with!

The GM is clearly knowledgeable and passionate about the world of Barovia and the Curse of Strahd campaign. This has made for an enriching, deep exploration of the world where it feels very lived in. It is definitely an open world/sandbox experience, which was overwhelming for me at first as I am a newer player, however, I have grown to love it! Rather than creating a linear experience of where to go next, the choices we make as players really feel like they're driving the story and have consequences. This is my first real campaign, and he has been very open to any questions I've had about the rules or character abilities, which has helped me improve as a player. Overall, a fantastic experience so far!
