Lasbelin is clearly dedicated to running adventures exactly as written, which can sometimes be a strength. However, this approach comes with significant drawbacks: there is little room for player creativity, as the narrative rigidly adheres to the script. NPCs feel lifeless and mechanical, performing only within their predefined roles and failing to engage outside of scripted encounters. As a result, the game becomes more about fulfilling the written plot than creating an organic experience, leaving players feeling railroaded with minimal agency for their characters. On the positive side, I truly appreciated the camaraderie among the players and the chemistry between our characters, which made this long campaign a joy on many levels. Unfortunately, these highlights could not make up for the core issue: rather than collaborating to build a story together, the experience often felt like simply being read a story. This ultimately led to my difficult decision to step away from the game, as I value roleplaying and shared adventures over passive participation.
P.C. runs cool games in the D&D 5e Amazon vs Valkyries setting, a familiar homebrew world based on actual history. The blend of fantasy with ancient civilizations isn't easy but this GM runs it smoothly. If you like history as much as sword & sorcery, or simply enjoyed Assassin's Creed or Total War games, then he's the perfect GM for your games.
Hands-down the best GM around here. Not only is he a technical ace, modding Foundry to the hilt and thus making it super easy for everyone playing with all of their characters' abilities, but he's also a terrific story-teller with superb voice-acting and utterly creative on-the-fly ideas. You won't ever see games of his with just 0 people currently joined, because I'll jump into every single one of them - try to beat me to it! 6 out of 5 Stars!
