Very fun to play with! We played a Learn to Play of Pirate Borg on a VTT new to me. He patiently explained the key tools to use the platform (even when I got stock and he had to go over it again), and the rules. We kind of attacked the problem of the adventure backwards and he managed that gracefully on the fly. A couple bad rolls could have de-railed us with a less experienced GM but he smoothly enabled the story to go on, and we ended it with a plot success and an emotional punch at the same time.

Doug hosted a 'learn to play' of Dragonbane for me and did a really great job! Very clear explanation of the basic rules. Answered all my questions along the way. AND he led a really interesting one-shot session as the learn to play. Imaginative, with a great blend of plot/combat/exploration/story/and an emotional twist! Very fun! Plus he had great maps, and images of key scenes. Highly recommended!

Brad enabled the players to show the creativity of the players/characters - example, our warlock's patron was a pet rock. And a player's periodic handing out of candies was woven into the story. He had all sorts of nice touches to help the game, including appropriate theme music; great maps; journals that logged events told in a colourful fun style. His game narration during battles had more flavour than other GMs I've played with, that made the battles more vivid. All-in-all, highly recommended.

Very fun “learn to play” Dungeon Crawl Classics session (level 0 funnel). Explained the basic rules succinctly and taught as we played. Great use of mood music/environment sounds. Allowed lots of player agency, made fair rulings where needed, and let the dice fall where they may!

I have been playing Warhammer with Dunchan for over a year. In the Enemy Within campaign there have been at least 10 times when I was CERTAIN my character was going to die! But I didn't. The effect he creates is that kind of delicious fear that you look for in a horror movie. And then the catharis that you heroically survive another day. The evil may not be permanently defeated, but you (barely) live to fight another day. And the victories feel earned. Dunchan creates one of the most immersive game settings I have ever played in (over 45 years of me playing TTRPGs), with very detailed colourful maps; terrific images of scenes and NPCs; very effective use of Syrinscape atmospheric sounds and music. Highly recommended.
