About me

D&D 5e / 5.5e player with ~3 years of experience across both live and PbP games. I enjoy a strong balance of roleplay and tactical combat, with a focus on atmosphere and meaningful character development. I absolutely love building characters and tend to get deeply invested in them, both mechanically and narratively. Comfortable with the rules, collaborative at the table, and always supportive of other characters’ moments.

Only a few sessions into a Lost Mine of Phandelver PbP run, but already having a blast. This is an upscaled version of the adventure - starting at level 5 - which makes for a really cool twist on a classic module. SonicMustang has a natural talent for storytelling and knows how to set a scene in a way that pulls you in. What really stands out, though, is how well he has figured out the PbP format - he uses smart systems to keep things moving without anyone feeling rushed; for example, players can vote on group decisions like whether to camp or press on by reacting to posts with emojis - simple ideas, but they make a huge difference for pacing and player engagement. The combat hits hard but feels perfectly scaled, which is no small feat with a higher-level party. Early days, but absolutely no regrets - highly recommend. If you're into PbP, join his table!

Fantastic one-shot experience playing in The Deep Dice's original module, Raiders of Kobold Isle. The game was packed with shenanigans, and he clearly thrives when players go sideways - the wild ideas the table threw at him were met with "yes, and" that made the session feel genuinely collaborative. He reads the room well and scales the energy to match the group, which made everything click. Highly recommend, and I'll definitely be jumping into more of his games!

Played a Mothership module - Year of the Rat in PbP format. Lydia ran a tight, tense sci-fi game that kept everyone on edge from start to finish. The pacing was good, the atmosphere was genuinely unsettling in the best way, and by the end our crew had pulled off something wildly satisfying that I did not see coming when we started.

Only a handful of sessions in at the time of this review, but I'm already sold. 5/5. Knows the adventure inside-out, brings it to life with great character voices, and can switch from comedy to dread in a single scene. Genuinely open to player input - he incorporated my backstory in a way I didn't expect, and it landed perfectly. Strongly recommend. Do yourself a favor and play at his table.

I've had an amazing experience playing with apheline. I'm currently in three of her PbP campaigns, and I'm genuinely having a blast in every single one of them. She strikes a fantastic balance between structure and player freedom. apheline gives players real agency and is always willing to roll with the party’s wild or unexpected ideas, which makes the story feel collaborative. Her creativity really shines through in the way she runs scenes, NPCs, and character moments. Even in PbP, where pacing can sometimes be tricky, she keeps things engaging and responsive. If you enjoy games where your choices matter, your character gets room to shine, and the GM embraces the chaos of player creativity instead of shutting it down, I highly recommend joining one of apheline’s tables.
