About The Deep Dice

My DM journey began at 12, leaning over the Black Box DnD set and sketching dungeons in school notebooks with friends. Thirty years later, I’ve turned that spark into a full-time path as a game designer and storyteller—creating immersive campaigns that players talk about long after the dice stop rolling. A few years ago, I left a career in strategy consulting and moved to Barcelona. That background trained me to craft layered narratives, design balanced systems, and navigate complexity—skills I now channel into building stories that balance freedom with structure. I’ve built The Deep Dice page on Instagram, where 10,000 DMs and players exchange ideas about deep-immersion play. I’ve published books on Dungeon Masters Guild with over 8,000 downloads—including The Ultimate Guide to Characters That Matter—and my upcoming campaign Murder in Arabel pushes the boundaries of character-driven storytelling in DnD. I’m drawn to themes of mystery, political intrigue, betrayal, and redemption—stories that feel human, nuanced, and emotionally powerful. My goal is always the same: to create that moment when players lean back, smile, and say, “Wow, that was incredible.” So pull a chair, roll some math rocks, and let’s craft those moments together.

I became a GM because

I craved to create worlds where characters truly matter. At 12, I stepped behind the screen to give friends unforgettable adventures—and never stopped. Over time, I’ve honed my craft into immersive, character-driven adventures where players’ backstories, choices, and emotions shape the narrative.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Immersive, Surprising, and Engaging. My players say they get swept up in the worlds I create, never know what twist is coming next, and always feel part of the story. Those words stick with me—they capture the kind of adventures I love to share.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Snowboarding, skating, or playing volleyball and football. I love traveling for nature, culture, and music festivals, and diving into books, films, theater, and exhibitions. These passions fuel my adventures—whether a twist from a TV series, an insight from history, or a theme found while traveling.

How The Deep Dice runs games

My sessions balance roleplay, combat, and exploration in a way that keeps players immersed and engaged—about half our time is spent in character, diving into conversations, choices, and dilemmas that make the story feel alive. The rest is split between combat and exploration, with each piece designed to matter. NPCs react authentically: sometimes harrowing, sometimes heartfelt, sometimes hilarious. They have layered motivations, personality, and backstory, designed to connect with the adventure, challenge you, or deepen your character’s arc. Some encounters turn into long, dramatic exchanges; others stay sharp and punchy—always striving to match the table vibe. Combat unfolds on tactical Roll20 maps with dynamic lighting and clever terrain. I design encounters to be challenging yet cinematic, rewarding smart tactics and creativity in equal measure. Exploration—whether in bustling cities or hidden corners of the world—is filled with secrets to uncover and consequences that ripple through the campaign. At my table, your characters aren’t passengers—they are the story. Your backstory weaves into the campaign’s conflicts, and the adventure unfolds from your choices. Expect carefully foreshadowed twists, layered mysteries, and collaborative breakthroughs that make every session feel like stepping into your favorite TV series—only here, you’re not just watching, but shaping every scene.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...

Christopher Nolan—I love watching players surprise themselves. Whether it’s a quiet roleplay moment that shifts a character’s arc or a daring gamble that turns combat upside down, I live for the creative, unforgettable breakthroughs that can only emerge at a collaborative table.

I prep by

Designing adventures as living worlds rather than static scripts. I weave player backstories into the narrative, craft conflicts with open outcomes, and map mysteries layered with clues and consequences. My prep is a flexible framework—so when players surprise me, the story bends but never breaks.

My games focus on...

Adventures where backstories aren’t just flavor—they matter. Choices ripple through intrigue, dilemmas, and twists. Roleplay fuels the story, exploration reveals secrets, and combat brings cinematic stakes. Each session balances freedom with purpose, so players feel like protagonists, not passengers

The Deep Dice's ideal table

My ideal table is collaborative, supportive, and respectful. I love players who lean into roleplay—diving into dialogue, relationships, and character arcs—while also enjoying problem-solving and tactical encounters. Min-maxing is fine if paired with roleplay; what matters most is that characters feel alive and part of the story. Spotlight sharing is a priority. I set that expectation from the start and reinforce it throughout the campaign. It’s great when players bring backstories to life, embrace complications, and invite others into interactions so everyone feels included. Respect and courtesy are non-negotiable. I encourage players to add to the world with their own ideas and lore hooks, making the campaign truly ours. Metagaming is fine when it enhances the game—like brainstorming tactics or questions—but it should never replace character perspective. All are welcome at my tables. I use tools like Soft & Hard Limits surveys, Stars & Wishes, Bleeds, Breaks, and Debriefings. Beginner, veteran, and mixed groups are equally welcome; what matters is curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. Above all, I want players ready to invest emotionally in the story, while leaving space for laughter, surprises, and unforgettable moments together.

I am for a vibe that's...

Feels cinematic yet collaborative. My tables mix intrigue, emotional depth, and thrilling twists, but leave room for laughter and spontaneity. I strive for an atmosphere where everyone feels safe experimenting, supported in roleplay, and excited for what’s around the corner—even if unpredictable.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

If you’re into character-driven drama (Stranger Things, Arcane), suspenseful storytelling (Andor, Succession), and surprising twists (Game of Thrones, The Boys), you’ll feel right at home. At my table, your character choices carry weight & shape the story, like in The Mandalorian or True Detective.

I love it when a player

Leans into their character’s personality and backstory, even when it complicates things. Taking bold risks, sharing the spotlight, or creating unexpected bonds with NPCs and party members all elevate the adventure. Those are the moments that make the game feel truly special to me.
