Ash has been running our Planescape campaign for a good while now, and I can say without a doubt that he is one of the absolute best GMs I've ever had (and I've been lucky enough to have a largely excellent array of them). He's excellent at setting the scene of whatever situation we're in, whether it's a grand battle for the fate of a city or a quiet, emotional moment exploring a character's story. Just as an example, we had a moment learning about the backstory of one of our NPC companions, and the quiet tragedy of his lost family - long in the past as it was for the ancient character in question - was palpable. His storytelling - and moreover the storytelling he enables us to do as a group together - has been absolutely superlative, as has his ability to characterise his NPCs in an emotive, compelling way that just makes you get attached to them. He's more than willing to run along with ideas we have for our characters, including some very wild inclusions in my own character's backstory, using Astral Drifter's feature to have a connection to Aoskar - which anyone even vaguely familiar with Planescape will know the weight (and potential lack of wisdom on my part!) of in lore. He makes sure it works, while not making any player feel left out or disregarded. Finally, something that I don't think gets mentioned much about DMs: conflict management. In the one case we've had where there was a bit of (ultimately minor) interpersonal tension - TL;DR: conflicting understandings of a situation at hand, leading to very different opinions on how something should work - Ash made sure that everything was handled in a way that didn't have any acrimony or ill will, and left everyone feeling good about the outcome. I could go on and on, so in short: Ash runs absolutely amazing games, with top-tier storytelling and characterisation, and his table is incredibly welcoming and open. The only folk that wouldn't be at home there are those that I wouldn't want to play alongside anyway. 11/10, planning to play in Ash's games as long as I possibly can.
