Rascal did a great job running our introductory Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG one-shot. I was new to the system, and he made it very easy to learn without stopping the game every few minutes for rules explanations. He introduced mechanics as they became relevant, answered questions clearly, and kept the session moving. What I especially enjoyed was how well he captured the feel of Dungeon Crawler Carl—the mix of danger, ridiculousness, dark humor, and over-the-top dungeon logic. It felt like we were actually playing in that world rather than just learning a new ruleset.
I have a great time playing in Ray DM's Shadowdark campaign. He does a great job creating a tense, immersive atmosphere while keeping the game moving at a steady pace. The encounters are dangerous and meaningful, the world reacts to our decisions, and every session gives the players opportunities to contribute. What stands out most is the amount of preparation and attention to detail that goes into the game. The descriptions, characters, pacing, and use of Foundry VTT all work together to make the setting feel alive. The Ray DM is also fair, knowledgeable, and willing to let creative ideas succeed when the players earn them. Shadowdark can be a challenging and unforgiving system, but the game never feels unfair or adversarial. Successes feel rewarding, failures have real consequences, and the overall experience remains fun. I would highly recommend Ray DM to anyone looking for an immersive, well-run, and memorable tabletop campaign.
