About me
Started playing D&D in 1978 with Basic (that’s *before* Advanced D&D for you young’uns). Played Champions, Gamma World, and RuneQuest back when keyboards were only found in pianos and text was a noun. In last few years playing Monster of the Week with my bros and family; like PbtA system (less crunch, more role play/story). LGBT, scientist, doctor, professor, former journalist, beekeeper, gardener, Buddhist Reclaiming Witch, kindness is my religion. I have a civil disobedience arrest record in 3 states. Official “Fun Uncle” with permanent invite to the kids’ table. My ratio of games as GM vs player is about 15:1 and I aim to even that out…

Had a blast with Daisy doing a one-shot of Monster of the Week with two other players, both new to the game. Daisy did a great job teaching the game rules and then led us through a creepy and hilarious episode saving a New Hampshire town from… well, MONSTERS! (Don’t want spoilers if she uses that story again, lol.) If you’re new to MotW these one-shots will make a great intro to a great game.
I have always played TTRPG’s with my family members; this was my first experience as a new player with strangers and it was AWESOME. Rowan fosters a sense of friendly fun around their game table and it’s been a joyful experience. Our Monster of the Week game had been underway for weeks when I and another player joined as new team mates. Rowan even let us pair up to compare notes and finish character creation ahead of our first game session, as our characters were connected (The Chosen and their Familiar.) Highest recommendation, esp if you’re LGBT, neurodivergent, or allies of same.
Chris was incredibly encouraging of our individual creativity in making the world of the game. He was flexible about our comfort with different technology platforms like Roll20. He was conversant with the rules of Delta Green, but also showed flexibility so that it would make for a great game experience.
