About me

I have been playing tabletop games nearly all my life, starting D&D in middle school through to grad school, playing primarily Pathfinder for a number of years, until switching over to 5e. I believe in building a character around personality and leveling them according to in-campaign experiences. I am an archaeologist IRL and tend to play very academically minded characters; my own background does colour the sort of lore and general world-building inquiries my characters tend to have.

This DM is very understanding of players new to the system and platform. I have played a couple times with them now and I am getting better but still frequently forget the sequence of events for my actions on foundry and pathfinder 2.0 but Moonshie is understanding and allows me time and coaches me through getting everything done the proper way. A great DM to teach you how the systems work!

Justin is a fantastic DM/GM. I have played in various games of his for a decade now, everything from Home Brewed universes to printed modules. He creates intricate lore, truly brings the NPCs to life, and sets appropriate atmosphere in his immersive games. I love to make characters with roleplay in mind, so I build off backstory and level based on the characters' experiences in-game. This leads to some... interesting builds. Justin is always there to help fit an idea into the theme and has come to expect the unexpected from my builds. I tend to ask questions, a lot of questions. Even when you've read all the lore or created it yourself, I'm bound to ask something that no one crafting the game thought to mention or consider. He's been happy to answer these on-the-spot world building questions and write up detailed information for said questions. He does not like to limit or pigeon hole himself as a DM, rather the opposite. I cannot think of a genre he could not create a themed game for. I myself have played in so many of his, including (off the top of my head): gothic horror, comedy, scifi, high and low fantasy, and historical settings. He knows the worlds and rules inside and out, but as any DM will tell you, players have a way of coming up with ideas you never expected (even when you've planned for everything). Justin always rewards inventive thinking while remaining within the rules of the universe. The resulting moments have been some of my favourite highlights throughout our campaigns. I love having Justin as a DM and look forward to decades of gaming yet to come. I cannot recommend or review him highly enough.
