Daggerheart has quickly become my preferred TTRPG system for player-narrative focused campaigns. The Hope and Fear mechanics create an organic ebb and flow of gameplay and encourages players to engage proactively with a scene and collaborate to achieve their goals. There are no jarring transitions between social, exploration, and combat, which allows a GM to blend the three pillars of gameplay into a single scene. This has enabled me to craft some of the most complex, tense, and rewarding encounters for my players, encounters that I couldn't have pulled off with another system. If you enjoy grounded, consequence-oriented gameplay, impactful narrative moments, and close collaboration between the players and the GM at the table, then I can't recommend this system enough.
