Noralf has been running the game with a solid balance of story, pacing, and player agency. Encounters feel fair but challenging, with enough tension to keep things exciting without overwhelming the group. The roleplay opportunities are engaging, and the descriptions of the world help immerse players in the setting. Rules are handled smoothly, with flexibility when needed, and the DM shows patience and adaptability to player choices. Overall, it’s been a fun and collaborative experience that encourages creativity and teamwork at the table.
Chris does an awesome job of crafting a story unique to your character concept. He also even goes so far to create custom mods and abilities for your character. He does a great job of world building and creating memorable npcs with compelling backgrounds. Each session is well balanced with roleplay, combat, and exploration.
John goes in to awesome detail and background regarding his world’s lore, culture, and history. He brings everything alive and keeps everything organized. He also does a fantastic job of making each fight interesting and a challenge. With so many folks in his west marches style PBP game - it’s very helpful that he keeps things organized and segmented.
Jerin is an absolute rockstar DM. Extremely knowledgeable of DND source material, Discord, and other tech to facilitate a remote game or Play-by-post. He's extremely organized as well. I play in his Avernus Play-By-Post campaign and each player has their own channel for their own character development/side quest in addition to the campaign channel where we progress through the story. There's also an organized journal where he keeps track of key story/plot points and other important items like maps, points of contact, game rules, etc. The game progresses at a great pace where we get about a session's worth of content per week. The major difference is all the extra flavor, quirks, and storytelling that gets layered into the experience. The best part of it all is Jerin's writing and descriptions very much bring the setting to life and more immersive.
Honestly a spectacular experience. The GM uses tone, music, mood, and noir storytelling to control the narrative. Very clear and easy to understand. The action felt impactful and every pc’s decision was accounted for and mattered. Very cool style of encounter and adventure building leveraging a tarot card deck where each player draws a card. Each of those cards played an integral part for the story. We went from playing a noir detective adventure to a thrilling inception-esque epic through sharn. 10/10
