I sit in the GM seat a lot... three games a week kind of a lot. I wanted a break, a diversion where I could just play, and I wanted nothing more than to play Star Trek, something I grew up with and have loved all my life. John creates a world that is immersive and focuses on roleplay over mechanics, which is something I adore. Star Trek Adventures, even in its second edition, can get bogged down in crunchy mechanics for skill rolls. Lean too hard into that, and it breaks immersion fast. John doesn’t do that. He knows when a roll really matters and when a character just presses a button so the story can keep moving (without breaking RP for five minutes on a meaningless dice roll). As a GM, he does his best to keep every player engaged, weaving scenes together so if your character isn’t in this one, you’ll likely be in the next. It feels like stepping into an episode of Star Trek in the best way possible. His campaigns are everything Star Trek should be: immersive, heartfelt, and fun. I wholeheartedly recommend them.
DocRimbo is a great Game Master. He sets a great mood, his combats are fun, and the roleplay is rock solid. Each NPC felt like a unique individual. He also masterfully handled turning a group of characters into a party. I would highly recommend you check out one if his games.
Bee is a wonderful and fun game master. Her roleplay encounters are rich with dynamic npc’s who feel like individuals. Her combat encounters are fun and challenging. Overall, she is a great storyteller, and her games are very immersive. I highly recommend you check one of her games out.
