About Bee Sarmiento

" Hello! My name's Bee Sarmiento! I'm an artist and Dungeon Master! I've been playing D&D since September of 2018, and it's been my hyper-fixation ever since. I'd love to start DM-ing for you. Hope to see you at my table! " Bee Sarmiento is a Visual Artist, Cosplayer, and budding Game Developer. Bee was born in a small town in the Philippines, and from 2013 to 2017, she’s been posting her drawings and works on various online communities, some more professional than others. In late 2017, several site revamps later, she started her blog busybeesarms and has since been posting digital paintings, doodles, and has been touring around the local convention circuit cosplaying and doing commissions. At the moment, she can be found working on various projects, such as ukulele covers, her upcoming indie video game, drafting various art pieces for her merch lineup for the next upcoming convention, or in her room eating eggs and fried rice in a bowl.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Cinematic, Fun-Loving, and Empathetic. I love cinematic moments and letting the player look cool, I'm really into comedy and fun moments over being too serious, and I'm empathetic. It's a collaborative story, and I'm 100% on your side! :D

How Bee Sarmiento runs games

If I were to describe my DM-ing style, I'd say it's half prepared dialogues, scripts, and quests, and half free roam and improv roleplay shenanigans. I mainly DM through Roll20 and Discord, so I often have prepared maps, tokens/minis, music, and Fun Voices for NPCs! I also occasionally have scripts prepared, either from my own making or from the module. I'm also a very whimsical DM, I like to have fun with my characters and definitely prefer FUN over gritty realism.

Bee Sarmiento's ideal table

"Grounded stories and moments that pack a punch!" If I were to describe the tone of my adventures, it would be Adventure Time. I like to have an over all comedic and fun tone for our sessions, but when serious or heartfelt moments occur, we respect it and savor the drama. "Over 6 years of Writing, Planning, and Refinement in terms of Campaign Prep!" I've been running Dungeons and Dragons since about 2019. At my table, I promise Preparedness, Focus, and Reliability. As much as we joke about "No GM Plan Survives the Table", for the adventures I'm offering here on SPG, I've run them multiple times and have multiple months if not years worth of prep to call upon. You might call this campaign a railroad, but like in a good way! Expect preparedness and me being an expert with what I have planned, so there's always story and content and no dead air, but enough flexibility and room for improvisation that the adventure feels personal and organic. "Although I champion the story and plot, Roleplay will be right there alongside." There's always room for shenanigans and Player-Driven RP moments. So, if you want to flirt with the bar maiden, Go Ahead! But I will cut to the other players and juggle the spotlight, so everyone gets their moment to shine! [ AT THE TABLE ] Still wondering what my tables are like? Here's a great video that I'd like to present! It's how I strive my GM-ing style to be: The Anti-GM! And the kind of Player Etiquette and Culture I want to foster! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYBZS6Vp3fE
