About KP
Hello, there! My name's Karen (they/them), but you can also call me “Kaleiyah” or “KP.” I've been playing fifth-edition Dungeons and Dragons since 2018. In addition to critting from either side of the DM/GM screen, I enjoy crafting fiction, cooking, cartomancy, composing music, and completing my video game collection. I run RP-heavy campaigns with a dash of fun and some occasional Rule of Cool, but I'm happy to accommodate a variety of playing styles if we're a good fit. One thing that differentiates me from other DM/GMs is that I started out as DM/GM rather than as a Player. I've carried this same initiative, drive, and enthusiasm even into my former job as an Assistant Language Teacher in Japan and as a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (Fiction). Something else you should know is that all proceeds from games will go towards the Captured Phantoms "Pay It Forward" Scholarship Fund to help marginalized and underrepresented storytellers of BIPOC, LGBTQ+, speculative, and commercial fiction receive coaching, consultations, critiques, and editorial services from me for their written work. So, by rolling some dice and enjoying some storytelling with me, you're giving that gift to others. Dungeons and Dragons as well as other TTRPGs allow us to become more creative and empathetic in a world that says we have to give up childhood play once we blow out a certain number of candles on our birthday cake. To that, I say, “Nay!” and welcome you on what I hope to be a wonderful adventure for you and your next character.

When I'm not running games I'm...
writing speculative fiction novels that I hope will one day get campaign settings of their own as well as helping other BIPOC and QUILTBAG+ speculative fiction writers publish their novels.
How KP runs games
I have a huge passion for storytelling and having fun. I run mostly RP-heavy campaigns with memorable NPCs and plot points, but I'm open to constructive criticism regarding how to run combat and incorporating more puzzles into dungeons. I also realize I have a habit of under-preparing that makes players feel like they're staring at a loading screen which I'm trying to work on, so thanks in advance for your patience. If this all sounds fine and dandy, I'd be happy to have you on board.
KP's ideal table
The types of players that tend to fit well at my table are storytellers first and gamers second. They are interested in crafted a compelling experience more than destroying monsters and finding loot, but if they are interested in those things, that's not necessarily a dealbreaker. Also, I've run games for beginners and veterans alike, and each table will be different depending on the experience they wish to have as well. By default, however, players at my table can expect a deeply immersive storytelling experience.
