About me
I'm a player, DM, and night owl. I've been consistently running and playing on VTTs (mostly Roll20) since 2019. I've dabbled in game design, writing, and lean towards the dark and macabre while trying to keep a sense of irreverence. My favorite fantasy settings/franchises are Dragonlance, Dresden Files, and Drakkenheim. My other influences come from modern music of the rock and metal variety.

I've been playing D&D with professional DMs for years now and I've run some games myself. Some have been poor, some have been really good. So far, Craig has been fantastic with the things I care about in a game: telling a good story that includes your character, challenging combat, and a firm understanding of the rules. He's also on point with NPC voices, visuals, and setting the tone of scenes through multiple ways, and very engaging. With his knowledge of the rules and clear, concise advice he also seems like he'd be a great DM for new players. He's the best DM I've played with in the 5+ years I've been doing this and is *always on*.
I started playing with Hyde about a year ago as a stranger with a few other random strangers in a homebrew campaign. It was the first paid game I had tried after having terrible experiences with free-to-play games with strangers. Since then myself and two others have been playing weekly with him on the regular and it's been great. I've since played other paid games with other DMs that aren't on his level but charge more. What you can expect playing with Hyde: Solid maps and excellent descriptions for theater of the mind. You'll be in theatre of the mind the majority of the time as maps are really only used for combat. His NPCs are memorable enough with personality even without voices: inflection goes far and he knows how to use it. Player agency is also above and beyond, this is his game but it's there to give the players the freedom to do what they want in his campaign and make their choices matter. He's terrific with combat balance and descriptions as well. mMy only warning is he leans into the gore and brutal nature of D&D more than others. This is not a complaint, it's flavor that I appreciate but others might not. His voice is clear, loud, and his accent is pleasant.
