About Yearn

Hello hello, Yearn here. I’ve been a Game Master for nearly 7 years now. What started out as running games for my little cousins and a couple of neighborhood kids as a way to tell stories and have fun grew into something more, a love for creating and sharing tabletop adventures. I like being sincere with my players and giving them the best experience I can offer. I enjoy improvising and making sure everyone is having fun. I always try to make my tables a space, where everyone is welcome, where people can explore, roleplay, and have fun together, no pressure, and just folks telling stories.

How Yearn runs games

I love running narrative-driven games, no matter the system. While I’m not the crunchiest GM out there, I thrive on dynamic encounters that players can interact with creatively. I care more about what makes a scene exciting, emotional, or memorable than about squeezing every modifier out of a rulebook. One of my players once described me as “the kind of GM who will always choose the most interesting choice a player gives me.” Interpret that however you’d like, but for me, that means I lean into player creativity. If you take a bold risk, make a dramatic speech, or try something unexpected, I’m probably going to meet you there. I embrace the Rule of Cool when it enhances the story, while still keeping the game grounded and fair. Combat is meaningful, roleplay matters, and your decisions shape the world. Above all, my goal is simple: I want the table to feel alive, collaborative, and fun. If you bring investment and imagination, I’ll bring the world reacting right back at you.

Rules are...

are guidelines and should not stop everyone into having fun.

Yearn's ideal table

My table is best described as casual, narrative-focused, and welcoming. I’m not here to run a high-pressure, hyper-optimized tactical gauntlet, I’m here to tell a good story with good people. You’ll enjoy my table if you’re looking for a relaxed game where creativity matters more than perfect builds, and where roleplay, character choices, and shared storytelling take center stage. I love when players engage with the world, talk to NPCs, make bold decisions, and lean into who their characters are. The general vibe is inclusive and open. I want everyone at the table to feel welcome and respected. We explore themes and intense moments only when they’re consented to by the group, and we prioritize communication and comfort. No pressure, no competition, just collaboration. If you’re someone who values story, enjoys working with others, and wants a space where your ideas are supported, you’ll fit right in.

I love it when a player

Do something unexpected, it makes the gears in my heas spins.

I think min/maxing...

Should always be allowed, players are different and should play the game and optimized their character they want.
