About Wiz Wrong

I'm a professional game designer who has worked on a few videogame projects, and designed Tabletop top systems for the last couple of years now. I prioritize player's enjoyments at my table, because games are supposed to be fun; and if they aren't then why bother?

I became a GM because

it became a way to focus my character creation, storytelling and world building abilities through a medium I had studied for a long time but never really connected the concepts between; Game Design.

My favorite shows/movies are

Various Tokusatsu series (Super Sentai/Kamen rider), Actual play Tabletop series (Critical role, legends of avantras), which are all thematic aesthetics I bring into my game creations.

People are always surprised when I tell them

that I am currently designing my own new tabletop system, that I hope to release into playtesting in the near future.

How Wiz Wrong runs games

I like to run my games with a healthy mix of narrative roleplay, tactical combat and puzzling adventures, and weaving my players own story ideas into the overall game world. If there's an idea you have for a story you want to tell with your character, you can bet I'll not only find a way to weave it in, but I'll throw in some extra surprises along with it to keep you surprised and wanting to know more.

I deal with rules issues by...

encouraging compromise where possible, and always referring back to my game focus; Is this fun? If a rule is proving unfun for my players, then we rework it until it achieves a fun result for the table.

My favorite trope is...

the 5 man band, because I get to see it form in my players creations and witness their dynamics and character development as a group form through play itself.

My games focus on...

Fun first. Every design decision, every narrative thread I write, every npc I create, every encounter I prepare; all revolve around the question; is this fun? And until that question is answered; yes, I'll keep refining my ideas until they meet my expectation of a fun time for everyone at the table.

Wiz Wrong's ideal table

I relish in creative maximization; you have a character build you've been dying to try out but haven't found the appropriate table game for? We'll find a way to work it in. I welcome all manner of ideas and will eagerly sprinkle in some notions of my own to add unexpected flavor to my my players concepts. So basically; openness is the big thing at my tables. Open to ideas, open to new ways of play, open to change. Whatever happens, we can figure it out and keep fun first and foremost for the players and the game.
