About Mr. Dungeonman

I've been part of the TTRPG scene for over 12 years, ever since stumbling upon an ancient tale known as "YogsQuest" and I've GM-ed for 10 of those years. In September of 2025, I finally decided to fully commit to my passions. While I have almost exclusively GM-ed for DnD 5e, I've played and watched games from dozens of other systems that I'd like to run on here after gaining more hands on experience with them, including, but not limited to, the World of Darkness brand, Call of Cthulhu, a slew of Powered by the Apocalypse games and many, many more! 3 fun facts about me - I was once recruited to cohost a DnD panel at a convention, while standing in line for that very panel. - I have no less than 16 sets of shelves and drawers for my TTRPG books, miniatures, and other tabletop accessories. - My right arm is covered in DnD tattoos with more to come. Shoot me a message if you’re in the DFW area and would like to run an in person game.

I became a GM because

My first time as a player was, frankly, awful. I decided to "temporarily" GM until I could find someone decent to tag in. Fast forward to now and my players have all but welded my butt to sit behind the GM screen. Do I wish I got to play more? Yes. Would I go back and change anything? Hell no!

My favorite books are

quite a few from the Warhammer 40k library, including, but not limited to, Helsreach, The Infinite and The Divine, and the Night Lords series.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Working out, watching/listening to something (actual plays, audiobooks, video essays etc.), and lots and LOTS of writing.

How Mr. Dungeonman runs games

With roleplay ranging from comically casual to chest pounding intensity and combats ranging from nail-biting tests of skill to simple formalities to further the story, I can and have done it all with everyone from first-timers to veterans that've been playing since the 70s. I make a point to determine what my players want and might like from a game and craft sessions based on those expectations. Priority #1 is everybody has fun. That's what I CAN do. These are my SPECIALTIES: - I am a writer: My homebrew has rich, extensive lore and compelling characters that tug at your very soul. I've made a globe spanning setting that extends into the stars and a plethora of cultures each with their own unique histories - I am a performer: I. DO. VOICES. I make noises and gesticulate. If there is a hated villain in your character's backstory, you best believe that I will summon every ounce of heinous vitriol to make sure they earn that hatred. - I am a crafter: The rules and mechanics of DnD are the clay with which I mold masterpieces. Magic items, monsters, species, sub classes, dungeons, traps, maps, puzzles, riddles, and much, much more

Rules are...

NOT a path we must always stay on, but merely the direction we travel.

Mr. Dungeonman's ideal table

My table is a place for the inexperienced to grow and the adept to thrive. If you come in with the intention of doing your best (however that may look), I will do everything in my power to make that work. While I do enjoy levity at my table and can dish out japes with the best of them, I crave intensity. I invite you to bring your A-game in both combat and roleplay, while resting assured that I will match your energy with the intention of surpassing it.

I love it when a player

gets their moment in the spotlight and smashes it out of the park.

I think it's a red flag when players...

can only have fun if they're "winning."

My table is not the place for...

deriving real-world pleasure from genuinely upsetting other people at the table
