About Whimsy Izzie
Howdy, adventurers! I’ve been telling stories for as long as I can remember. Before TTRPGs I built whole worlds out of notebooks, running games for friends everywhere from the playground to dinner parties just for the joy of it. When I discovered tabletop roleplaying, everything clicked: the characters, the drama, the laughter, the heartbreak. I’m a literature and editing major, a published author, and a freelance editor/writer. But my favorite title will always be Game Master. Right now I run seven ongoing campaigns, all set in my own immersive homebrew worlds, places full of mystery, whimsy and emotional depth. My tables are beginner-friendly, narrative focused and roleplay-heavy. Whether you’re rolling your very first d20 or you’re a veteran who loves complex character arcs, my goal is the same: to create games that feel alive, cinematic, and unforgettable. I bring in custom maps, music, handouts, lore, and homebrewed mechanics to make every session feel like you’ve stepped into a story that you get to help write. If you’re looking for a reliable GM who blends immersive storytelling, strong roleplay, and epic adventure, you’re in the right place. Let’s tell a story worth remembering.

How Whimsy Izzie runs games
Story first, mechanics second. That’s my golden rule. Dice rolls and stat blocks are important, but at my tables they always bow to the story we’re telling together. I lean into the rule of cool, rewarding creativity and bold choices that make the game feel alive. There’s a balance between combat and roleplay in my games, because I consider diplomacy, intrigue, and social encounters just as valuable as battles. Every arc follows a rhythm of rising tension, turning points, and resolutions, but inside those arcs you can always expect a twist or a cliffhanger. After all, my friends call me the Queen of Plot Twists and Cliffhangers for a reason. My games are roleplay-heavy, rich with detail, and driven by emotional high stakes and immersive world-building. I aim for memorable sessions where your backstory will pop up unexpected, you will let out a "oh sh#t!" in surprise, and where laughter sometimes turns into “my therapist will hear about this.” Consent always comes first at my tables. Safety tools, communication, and player comfort are non-negotiable. I want you to feel free to take risks with your character, knowing the table is a space where story and agency are protected. I typically do not work weekends. Prime time slots from Friday evening to Sunday evening are priced at a premium. I specialize in high fantasy, but I also run urban fantasy and cyberpunk campaigns. Whatever the setting, the goal is the same: to tell a story together, whatever that story shapes up to be.

I once ran a session...
I once ran a D&D marathon that was 13 hours of gameplay. On top of a homebrew "Battle Clock" mechanic to track combat across a massive battlefield, I also designed games like Bingo and Jeopardy-style trivia all about the party, the campaign and the characters. It remains one of my favorite days.
My games focus on...
Narrative, emotions, mystery. We want to rage, cry, laugh and swoon all in the same place. We want to explore those backstories and the ramifications of our choices in the world. To brave into the unknown and grow from it. To face impossible choices and dig deep into who we are as people.
Rules are...
Guidelines. Mechanics and rules exist to support the story and provide a framework. That is how I run my games. I believe rules should be aids rather than kings. Story is King. Everything else in games should work to support that.
Whimsy Izzie's ideal table
My table is a place for players who want to dive deep into story, embody their characters, and feel the weight of their choices in a lived-in world. Roleplay is King. Whether you’re negotiating with a vampire lord, confessing a secret, or making the most chaotic plan imaginable. I love players who bring curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to dive into the story head first. Big dramatic speeches are welcome, but so is nuance, complex character development, and laughter that breaks the tension. We celebrate all of it. Consent and respect come first. This is a collaborative table, not a competition. Everyone deserves space to shine, and everyone’s boundaries are honored. If you’re looking for a group where the drama hits hard, the cliffhangers sting, and you just can't wait for the next session, then you’ll feel right at home here.

I love it when a player
Gets creative with what they have. There's no greatest joy for me as a GM than being caught by surprise by a player's creativity.
