About Virginia
Hello! I'm a queer, disabled, Irish/Italian American from the east coast USA. I'm highly sarcastic, dramatic, and obsessed with story telling. I've been playing TTRPG's since I was a young warthog and I have no plans of stopping. I'm quite proud of my one-shot running skills. I don't want to jinx it, but I've never had a one-shot turn into a two or three-shot on accident as I'm very good at adapting to the pacing of my players. I like to start every table relationship with lines and veils. (If you don't know what that means, I can tell you when we meet!) And I love to shape a story based on the goals and desires of my players. I'm an accent guy and I adore when my players join in too! At my table I care more about telling a good story than I do following the rules religiously. So if you're a rules lawyer, I respect the grind, but we probably won't match. That's not to say I always hang the rules, but they are more like guidelines, anyway. I love to tell stories about how the bad guy ends up having a change of heart, or the system was the problem all along, or something scary was just misunderstood, or having a mental break through that redefines success, and of course, a good ole plot twist. My genre/vibe picks are spooky ghost tales, hope-core, mystery, kids in peril, nature/ cute critter characters, and a bunch more! So, if you're new to the game or a veteran who loves a good story and a lot of laughs, come share my table! I can't wait to play with you.

I became a GM because
the honor of creating a space for people to be themselves by being someone else is precious to me.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
funny, collaborative, inventive.
When I'm not running games I'm...
reading mystery, fantasy, memoirs, poetry, and leftist literature, doing art, scheming, or taking care of animals.
How Virginia runs games
I'm adaptable, fast, and witty. I love to make NPC's that are just as colorful as the PC's, and to tell stories that are inclusive of all body types and experiences. I also love to let my player's take the lead if they feel inspired! And more than anything, I love Love LOVE to trick you. I will learn ANY game system you want, and will design a story based on the goals of the players. The more inspiration and limitations you give me, the more intricate a story web I can weave. I love a good battle but I hate when the fight lasts a whole session. I care more about role playing than punchy-punchy, fireball. So, if you're hear for the blood shed, I am not for you. But if you're here for character development and processing real life scenarios through role playing, I'm your man! I've been role playing with friends since I was about 7 years old. We called it dungeons and dragons, but we didn't have any books or dice or idea what was actually going on. We just all pretended to be dragons in a dungeon who were fighting and then one of us was the Dungeon Master, which just meant they told us if something was fair or not. I didn't always play correctly, but boy did I have the love for the game! Now, I'm a lot more informed and have read many more systems. I would love to bring my child like whimsy and old wizard know-how to your table.
Virginia's ideal table
My table is a place to relax, bond, act, eat, unmask, and dive into role play and creation. I like a player who is trusting and trustworthy at the table. If you are good at taking initiative and giving a passionate speech when the moment calls for it but also know how to share the spotlight and give your fellow players a turn, we're a well made match. When all is said and done, I want to tell a good story. I will often sacrifice rules for the plot and really only reference them when I can tell the players are craving more structure. Sometimes the limits that the rules present can help stimulate creativity. It is an ebb and flow that I will respect.

I am for a vibe that's...
trusting, collaborative, accommodating, and negotiated.
I love it when a player
asks to describe something in the game outside of their character, or asks to play an NPC for a scene.
I think min/maxing...
can be fun and funny for some games and can be kinda annoying for others. As long as it matches the vibe the table is going for I'm cool with it.
