About Patrizio
My journey with Dungeons & Dragons started with a brief experience as a player during the 3.5e era. After several years away from the game, I returned in 2020, this time behind the DM screen. I started running games for friends and later expanded into local gaming communities, conventions, and public events. Most of my experience comes from in person play, running ongoing campaigns, one shots, introductory games for complete beginners, courses, and demonstrations at gaming conventions. My passion for D&D also led me to create a small social media project dedicated to the game and to develop Tristora, my own setting, supported by an online campaign guide that continues to grow alongside the world itself. I've also run published adventures set in the Forgotten Realms, always adapting modules to the players and their characters rather than treating them as fixed scripts. While most of my experience comes from physical tables, I'm comfortable with online play, VTTs, and digital character management. I also hold a C1 English certification, although I'm currently a little rusty, especially when it comes to spoken English and pronunciation. What I enjoy most about being a DM is creating stories together with my players, giving their characters room to shape the adventure while providing engaging challenges along the way.

I started running games because...
I originally started running games because my wife pushed me into the DM's chair after the person who had volunteered to run our adventure failed to get it started for over a year. Somehow, that turned into a hobby, then a passion, and eventually a full blown obsession involving 3D printers.
My favorite books are
The Lord of the Rings, Brandon Sanderson's novels, especially The Stormlight Archive, The Wheel of Time, and Robin Hobb's sagas.
How Patrizio runs games
My main goal as a Game Master is to create a great story together with my players. I see roleplaying as a collaborative experience, where the characters and their choices should help shape the direction of the campaign. I adapt my campaigns to the players and their characters, including when I run published adventures. Backgrounds, motivations, relationships, and decisions can all become part of the story. Because of this, even when I run the same module more than once, it never reaches the table in exactly the same way. I enjoy creating balanced and engaging encounters where players can make meaningful tactical choices. From time to time, I also like to surprise the group with carefully designed homebrew creatures and mechanics. My goal with homebrew is never to overwhelm the players, but to create something unexpected, challenging, and memorable while keeping the encounter fair. I have a strong knowledge of the rules and I value consistency at the table, but I also know when rules can become an obstacle to fun, creativity, or a great moment. I am happy to reward clever ideas and creative solutions when they make sense within the game. Ultimately, I want players to feel that they are not simply following my story. We are creating it together.
Patrizio's ideal table
There is only one real prerequisite at my table: **being willing to play together**. I am not looking for one particular type of player. Beginners, veterans, roleplay enthusiasts, explorers, and players who enjoy combat can all find their place. In my experience, when everyone is willing to share the spotlight, listen to their fellow players, and give every character their moment, everything else tends to work naturally. I like a table where we can take the story seriously without having to be serious all the time. There is room for roleplay, tension, combat, difficult decisions, jokes, and lighter moments, as long as one player's fun never comes at the expense of someone else's. When it comes to organization, I value **punctuality, reliability, and communication**. A campaign is a shared commitment, and respecting the schedule or giving the group enough notice when something comes up means respecting everyone's time.
