I got started GMing...
I got started GMing when I moved to England in 1980 and wanted to keep playing D&D. I started running games with my new friends and have kept with it, playing through most editions up to the present day with D&D 5E 2024/2025.
My favorite books are
Current: THE SPELL OF THE SENSUOUS by David Abram; Favorite authors: Shakespeare, Marlowe, Witkacy, Alan Moore, Alison Weir, James Baldwin, Rachel Pollack, Mary K. Greer, Tolkien, Frank Herbert, Fritz Lieber, Moorcock, Euripides, Zelazny, Jack Kirby, Caryl Churchill, Stoker, Mary Shelley, S-L Parks
When I'm not running games I'm...
When not running games, I’m spending time with my partner, designing, illustrating, & publishing 3rd party 5E TTRPG creations on DriveThru RPG, hiking & spending time in Nature, reading, writing, working in the theatre, community activities, attending performances of plays, music, and seeing films.
How Timothy McCown Reynolds runs games
Fun and fantastical, nearly every session involves meeting interesting characters, going to new places, and getting into a challenging situation- combat or conflict, skill contest, or puzzle. I begin every session with a personal check in (“How is everyone doing?”) to be social and address any real-world stuff that might be going on that needs attention, followed by a recap of what has gone before (ideally recounted by one or some or all of the players), followed by a character check-in (“How does your character feel about what has gone before?”), and then we dive back into the game where we left off. I encourage heroics and collaboration! I center my games around the players and we all collaborate to develop the world together. Serious fun!

I once ran a session...
I ran a session that lasted 12 hours of real time. The 100th session of a group I played with weekly for about 5 yrs. They were level 20 & went after Vecna (as a Greater God of Secrets & Undeath) on his home plane, & managed to destroy him! They surprised me by dressing up as their PCs. Epic Fun!
My games focus on...
My games focus on fun, collaborative storytelling, immersive world-building, and high stakes situations. The PCs are the heroes and are called upon to work together to save the day!
