About Brandon Schneider

Greetings Adventurers, Investigators, Cyberpunks and more! I am a gay asian man and an gamemaster with almost 10 years of experience in way too many systems to count, and a performing improvisor and actor as well. I firmly believe that we are here to tell a story together, and incorporating player ideas into my own worlds and stories is a crucial part of my job as a gm. One of my favorite things about the hobby is meeting new people, and teaching new players. Incorporating your character's backstories and goals is just as important as any "main plot" in my opinion so bring em on! Let's tell stories together!

How Brandon Schneider runs games

I am an improvisor at heart and enjoy playing to find out. I tend to prep scenarios (possible events, npcs, problems, encounters) not solutions to them. Creative solutions are always welcome, and failing forward is paramount. I enjoy both crunchy tactical combat and heavy roleplay games depending on the system and group. If a player asks me a question about the world, I will often let them help fill in the details if I do not know the answer. I am here to tell a story with you rather than navigate you through a story of my own devising.

Player stories and plans! I believe it is my job as a GM to present a situation, not a completed story. My favorite parts of rpgs are when something completely unexpected by myself and my players happens. Make bold choices and you will be awarded for your actions!

Rules are...

Important for balance and fun, but they are not the end all be all. I am a fan of the rule of cool as long as it is fun for everyone at the table. I tend to run fairly rules as written for most systems, but I am willing to bend the rules as needed for the sake of the fun of the table.

My ideal table is one that plays well off each other. As in improv, rpgs are at their best when you build on top of what other players and the gm lays down before you. We are here to support each other in telling good stories.
