About Tesseract
I'm a writer and mathematician who has been playing and running TTRPGs for twenty years, across a variety of systems. I love worldbuilding and coming up with compelling NPCs for players to interact with. I'm interested in telling stories with queer themes, ideas of identity, and playing with the nature of personhood.

I got started GMing...
I was an "assistant GM" for a campaign I was playing in, responsible for a few NPCs, designing magic items, and the like. From there I graduated to building my own worlds and never looked back!
My favorite shows/movies are
My favorite series is Becky Chambers' Wayfarers series. I love the personal-stakes, intimate stories against a space opera backdrop.
My favorite system of all Time is
FATE Core, because I love the incentives for players to really inhabit their characters, and the flexibility of the system.
How Tesseract runs games
My games have a focus on roleplay and storytelling; I love crafting aspects of the world and NPCs to help PCs tell the kind of stories they want to tell. If you're the kind of player who brings an intensive character backstory to session zero, you're my kind of player.

I deal with rules issues by...
I usually rule in favor of the players if it's something cool and not too abusable. If it's something I don't want to allow for balance's sake, I'll offer the option to do it but with a significant restriction or cost.
I prep by
I have a personal wiki (Obsidian) that I use to build the world and characters, then for each session I create an article with links to all the things I think I'll need for that session (characters likely to be onscreen, places likely to be visited, etc.)
When it comes to voices
I don't tend to do a LOT of voices because I don't feel that's my greatest strength, but I love it when players are willing to do distinct voices!
Tesseract's ideal table
I like a collaborative, fun atmosphere with players who are invested in their characters and the story they're telling. I enjoy running proactive games, driven by the PC's goals.

I am for a vibe that's...
Fairly lighthearted, but with room for serious story beats. I tend not to run a lot of horror themes.
I love it when a player
I love it when a player is invested in their own character, and their character's goals and journey. I love it even more when players engage with other people's characters too!
I think min/maxing...
I think minmaxing is fine, as long as the player is also willing to engage with their character as a character. It can be a fun challenge to explain why a minmaxed PC is the way they are!
