About Taoist Dragon
Hello adventurers of all kinds! I'm the Taoist Dragon, but you can call me Toasty!!! I've been playing RPGs since I was 6 and acting since I was 9 years old, and I'm currently 32. You could say I'm some what of a vet. In fact, I can still hear the wizard saying "I cast fireball" in my dreams. I officially started my TTRPG journey as a teenager out of high school. It was an easy transition and I've loved them ever since. They combine a lot of my loves in life, from interesting worlds, acting, gaming, and good times with friends. I've been in more campaigns than I can count at this point and have done quite a bit of playing and GMing, both on and off camera. I have a Youtube channel and have been talent on several theater productions, actual plays, and movies. While I love playing, I also love being the GM. As the GM, I get to play all sorts of characters. Also, I am a writer and being the GM lets me create cool and interesting worlds and scenarios for players to shine in. It still amazes me so much to this day just seeing how creative my players can be and the shenanigans they can get up to. It's fun for me to just be in the backseat as the narrator as my players take the reins on the story. Together, we can create such interesting tales. I've decided to try my hand at professional GMing because I know how hard it can be to find someone who wants to GM. It has ended so many groups and prevented people from enjoying this hobby. So, relax adventurer. When you need a guide, trust the Dragon!

I became a GM because
I love to create and I love being support. Being GM means I get to make a world, fill it with unique characters, and be the backdrop as my players take the spot light. Also, not everyone wants to GM. I enjoy doing it and am happy to GM so others can play!
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Easy Going, Knowledgeable, Creative
When I'm not running games I'm...
I am a Renaissance man with many interests. Just a short list of my projects; I am a writer working on a script, I have a Youtube channel, I'm an actor working on my voice acting, I am working on going back to school to be a teacher, and am taking lessons to be hypnotherapist.
How Taoist Dragon runs games
My first and foremost rule of GMing is that the experience needs to be crafted to the players. I am a heavy believer in healthy group dynamics. There is many ways to play a table top, from brutal dungeon crawls to in depth roleplay or thrilling PVP. The most important thing is just having everyone on the same page. That said, I personally really love roleplay and will always give space for it at my tables. How I run monsters also is very roleplay focused, with zombies just attacking what's in front of them or an assassin who tries to go after the healer first. In the past, I have always ran a session zero with new groups, as well as having a oneshot or two before starting the campaign for everyone to get to know me and each other. Those oneshot games are not necessary of course, but my point is I will and do go above and beyond to make sure every voice is heard and that everyone at the table is happy with the game being run. Conflicts will arise, and disagreements will still happen. I will always do my best to resolve those conflicts so that everyone gets out of the game what they want. Up to this point in my GMing career, I have ran brutal horror, epic power fantasies, role play heavy character driven games, silly oneshots, and mechanic focused dungeon crawls. Each game has been tailored to the group. I love GMing this way because I want everyone to have fun and I just love being creative. I like creating all sorts of worlds and seeing that spark of creativity in my players' characters. As a GM, I am focused on creating an engaging world for your player characters to thrive in and then stepping back as I admire my players' characters as they live out their heroic (and not so heroic) adventures. What does this mean in a professional setting? Well, it means I will craft experiences that will fit multiple play styles. As we play and I get to know you, I will further refine the game so that it has something for everyone at the table. This might sound too good to be true, and in truth it is hard to craft an experience that literally everyone will enjoy. However, I will do my best and for me it matches my disposition because I like all the different parts. Tactical combat to me is just as much fun as roleplay only sessions. so I will enjoy the experience despite how I have to change it. All that matters is we all have a good time.

I once ran a session...
Where my players had to defend their pawn shop from a goblin biker gang. For how silly the game was, it was almost a TPK! It was as chaotic as you expected, with my favorite moment being when the players stuffed the goblin leader into a trash can and levitated it!
Rules are...
Not set in stone. The rules are all here so we have a framework to engage in the game and have fun. If a rule doesn't work for a group, we can tweak it. At the end of the day all that matters is we are on the same page and having fun.
When it comes to voices
I will do a bunch of different voices! I am a budding voice actor and, while I feel I got room for improvement, I feel I do decent work. Be prepared for Stitch or Skeletor to join in our game!
Taoist Dragon's ideal table
My tables are pretty easy going and friendly places. I am here to build everyone up and I feel the environment I create is conducive to that. I'm all for "yes, and"ing my party's shenanigans, as long as they have the tools in means to do so in the system and established game world. Overall, this creates a table environment where everyone feels welcome and is better geared towards players who like working with others. Other than that, anyone is welcome! I have enough experience in the systems I run that veterans should be feel at home and enough patience and warmth that newbies should feel the same. I strive to find something for everyone.
