I got started GMing...

when the forever-GM for my first group stepped down and we needed a GM. I loved telling stories already, so I picked up a DMG and started my career.

My favorite books are

The Dark Elf Trilogy, The Inheritance Cycle, and Discord.

When I'm not running games I'm...

brewing for Magic: The Gathering, reading or playing video games.

How Simulacrum runs games

I have been running games of all kinds for a very long time, and so I have learned that each party comes with its own wants and needs. My goal is to always tailor the game before us to what the players desire most. Prefer combat? Beat-em-up mode engaged. Love Drama and Theater? I will put on a hat and talk in a sultry voice. From Action to Romance, nothing is off the table. My personal style tends to include no small amount of comedy, drama and high-stakes. I am a friend to the rule of cool, enjoy giving players a chance to do what they think will be the most exciting, and try my best to make each session memorable. To me, being a games master is a service as much as a hobby, and I'm always going to treat your game like it's the first and last one of your life.

My games focus on...

Roleplaying and Narrative. I put characters and their stories ahead of most anything else, and I try to make every story beat unique.

Rules are...

a framework for fun and narrative. You should always do your best to follow the rules, so long as they do not interfere with everyone's fun. If a rule does interfere, consider discussing it with the group and replacing or removing it.

When it comes to voices

I'm always going to try and give NPCs voices that make them memorable. I don't expect my players to, but I encourage them to try if they feel like it.

Simulacrum's ideal table

My ideal table is filled with Jokers, Drama Queens, Action Heroes and Hopeless Romantics. The players engage with the world around them with exuberance and tug at the threads of the story. They lean on each other for support both in and out of character and look to me to provide them with an unforgettable experience. MY TABLES ARE ALWAYS HATE FREE.

Featured Prompts

I love it when a player

delivers roleplay with powerful emotion. I love feeling the weight of their words and actions.

My perfect party mix is

a theater kid, a critical role fan, a Monty Python character and someone who can't stop making puns that are all somehow the heroes our people need.

My table is not the place for...

those who spread hate or misinformation, cannot abide by the social contract and who do not conduct themselves with integrity.
