About Silver's Raincloud
An intermediate player and GM, getting my start in a homebrew kitchensink Pokemon 5e campaign with mechanics I initially developed. Then I learnt about the wonderful entry system of D&D5e, and continued GMing it since 2022, branching off into Kids on Bikes and crafting my spin-off system Amongst Eternity, as well as GMing and playing for Pokemon Tabletop Reunited 1e and 2e. I then went on and developed my own branch of PTR1e called Pokemon Tabletop Fates, during which I began my mythology-oriented Daggerheart campaign that is still ongoing to this day the week I discovered Daggerheart and bought the Core Rulebook. I'm open to learning new systems and am more than happy to learn with players without charge, and like to keep an open mind when it comes to TTRPGs. I deeply enjoy mechanics that are baked into the roleplaying aspect of systems, but have a natural interest in crunchy mechanics when the situation calls for it. Overall, I am a huge fan of my players' PCs, and am of the belief that the world should be tailoured to PCs in a significant way, even if it may be less grandiose than the entire scale of the campaign. I prefer running long-term campaigns, so as to flesh out the world and the PCs as they live within it, but am more than happy to accommodate for shorter adventures.

My favorite books are
Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro, Before The Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi, How Do You Live? by Genzaburō Yoshino!
My favorite system of all Time is
Daggerheart! I love narrative-forward systems and this is the one for me!
When I'm not running games I'm...
reading, prepping, or playing some good ol' Tactics games.
How Silver's Raincloud runs games
I am of the belief that the reason we play TTRPGs isn't only to escape reality and find an entertaining pastime, but to truly enrich our own minds with perspectives that we would never be able to employ in real life simply due to the constraints of reality and social norm. To roleplay is to live a part of yourself which you do not often have the capacity to get in touch with! I enjoy GM'ing dramatic campaigns that can carry a range of light-hearted moments between players sitting around a campfire, or an airship in the sky, as they share a meal to a moment of doubt and fear as a PC finds themselves between great catastrophe and a very bad deal. Speaking above-the-table is something I always encourage should moments be necessary, and being able to openly share thoughts and considerations between players and GM on the table is something I deeply endorse. I am, after all, a fan of my players' actions. Though I am limited in accents, inflections, and tenor, I enjoy seeing relationships grow between NPCs and PCs, as they branch off into the various possibilities that can emerge from people interacting. Part of what informs my GM'ing is a sense of realism influenced by whimsy, and that source of inspiration is what keeps going. I love character building with my players, and often find myself wondering how and what I can do on-and-off the table to enhance player experience. I enjoy getting feedback, whether it be negative or positive, and enjoy meta-discussions deeply.

I deal with rules issues by...
making a decision then and there, and revisiting it with those who had an issue with the ruling! Debating for ten minutes about rules is no fun for anyone, and it is especially worse for paid sessions.
I once ran a session...
where a PC got kidnapped the Goblin Mafia for rejecting their Don's daughter, while another PC was too busy resurrecting a deceased deity of chaos and destruction. Just another day of DND.
I prep by
working for three hours to write for each hour of a session! I like to take my time prepping, keeping an open mind on what to expect, and organizing all of my notes to prepare for such cases.
Silver's Raincloud's ideal table
The ideal table is a respectful one who sees other players not only as their PCs but more importantly as the people that they are! Being able to understand that everyone comes from different walks of life is important, and being able to understand one's differences from the players they meet is good, not only for their character but for the quality of playing together. Players who are able to reorient themselves towards making sure that not only do they have fun as we play, but others are too!

I love it when a player
leans into their PC's weaknesses! A player who can play their character perfectly and do everything right is great! But, a player who play a character to its weakest moment is incredible.
I think min/maxing...
is a welcome and understandable thing! To feel powerful in-game is to feel amazing! But, to remain in-character, who plays someone not as flawless as their build, is an important aspect of role-playing in my tables. By all means, be powerful! But be open to moments of weakness and vulnerability!
My table is not the place for...
those who cannot respect other players' enjoyment and time. If I am to be disrespected for a meaty combat or a character's loss, go for it! But disrespecting other players and their use of their time is where I draw the line (often coinciding with being disrespected, to be fair).
