About Lady Silverbeam

I love being creative and I employ lots of game tools, art, music, and visuals as well as real handouts and props! I am a jack-of-all-trades artist and use all my skills to add to the immersion and creativity of the game with campaigns and modules I have created from writing, drawing art and maps, to 3d modeling miniatures and more! Fantasy and creativity have been my two main passions for longer than I can remember. I love coming up with homebrew items, handouts and props, drawing maps, art, music, and so much more. I have been a self-employed creator of various projects with TTRPG content for over 10 years, and have been playing and running games for much longer. Creating homebrew worlds and writing in YOUR character's backstory into the plot for all the sweet lore and drama, is a key part of my DMing style with lots of role-play, epic combat, and a good dose of puzzles, intrigue, romance, and shenanigans. I love playing with newbies and vets at the table of all types and ages, creating a safe and fun environment.

I became a GM because

I love the game, its creativity, combined with others as we tell stories together. It also helps with my health! I needed a flexible job that could accommodate my bad health days and would allow my creative artist heart to thrive.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

1. Creative: From writing my own campaigns and worlds, to hand-drawn maps, and more, to fully immerse yourself with your characters. 2. Inclusive: As a Female with health issues, I get it. We all need a safe space to lose ourselves. 3. Storyteller: From silly to traumatizing, the story you desire.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Well, my two "Jobs" are running TTRPG campaigns and writing them as well as crafting and creating for Renaissance Faires as a vendor, along with my brother as the Treasure Yurt in Florida. Huzzah!

How Lady Silverbeam runs games

The Players are the main characters and I emphasize role-playing and weaving your backstories into the plot! I am a creative DM and this is a big part of what I offer. From handouts, custom maps, all kinds of homebrew, music, Costumes, etc! RP, players and campaign stories first, with some Epic combat sprinkled in to raise the stakes and tension! A safe place for all kinds of players, big, small, newbies, veterans, old, young, queer, etc. Play who you want an a world that molds around you and your fellow players.

I prep by

Drawing maps, building 3d maps with Talespire, or any other art needed, but most importantly I look at each player, seeing if there are personal touches from their backstory that should come up during the session. I also try to balance from silly to traumatic, depending on my group's desires.

My games focus on...

The players just as much, if not more than my story plot! I want your character to feel like they matter and not just any rolled character would have easily slotted in. You help shape the story, and I work with you and weave your backstories into the plot of the campaign.

Rules are...

1. Safe and comfortable space! Play nice or don't play at all. 2. Rule of cool: If it works within the heart of the game and is not game-breaking its usually good. Be creative within or around the structure! 3. Respect everyone's time. Running late, need to miss a session? Just let us know asap.

Lady Silverbeam's ideal table

My table must be comfortable and safe. Period. A table that is willing to become friendly and invested in the campaign and each other is a must. We love a table that is committed to coming to the sessions and ones that will learn their character skills and game mechanics over time with any DM help as needed. I love it when players are ready to play and jump right in. RP and story telling are also highly encouraged at my tables as I am an RP-first, combat-second DM. So.... We love players who are willing and able to roleplay, work together, and make sure not to overshadow or give proper turns to all the players. Those excited for their fellow players' epic moments as much as their own.
