If you are curious about playing in awesome games, with incredible individuals, and being part of a community that cares, then Shieldsong Gaming is the place for you. ABOUT ME: Margaret is the creator and director of Shieldsong Gaming. An avid devourer of nerdy content in all forms, she has dipped into and explored many facets of roleplay gaming. From text based to live action to tabletop and more, roleplaying has taken a clear and central place in her life. An early love of Tolkien and Lord of the Rings spurred her into creative endeavors, which were only furthered by fantastic sci-fi and fantasy books, movies, and television. In addition to roleplaying, she is passionate about hiking, camping, queer & trans issues, and spending time with her dog Eomer and her partner.

I became a GM because
I love being able to create a world for my players to explore, where they can immerse themselves into a living and breathing story that pushes and pulls them, giving them the chance to experience the full breadth of human emotion and discover more of themselves & each other through their characters.
My favorite system of all Time is
Currently? I would say The One Ring, 2nd Edition. I am in love with anything Tolkien related, but TOR2E is such an amazing system. The Journey and Fellowship mechanics, the gritty and dangerous combat, the wonderful bonds and added developments to Middle Earth. Simply amazing.
When I'm not running games I'm...
hiking with my dogs, playing Magic, building in Minecraft, wandering thrift shops, reading fantasy, studying Tolkien, or spending time with my friends.
How Margaret Eowyn at Shieldsong Gaming runs games
Shieldsong Gaming is the primary creative endeavor and passion of Margaret Éowyn Clementine. Focused on engaging roleplay, dynamic worlds, group bonding, and an easily approachable style of DM'ing, Shieldsong Gaming exists for all types of TTRPG players. Whether you are an intricately crafted Min-Maxer, a beginner searching for adventure in an unknown world, a deep-diving lore focused Roleplayer, or anything else in between, we have a place for you at our table. As a DM, I attempt to bring a nuanced and balanced experience, where both roleplay and combat are frequent and intertwined. With a plethora of maps, fleshed out NPCs, practiced voices, and inhabited worlds, the goal is for players to feel like they are existing in a dynamic and responsive world.

I prep by
Doing my utmost to have a developed world. I keep a journal for each and every game I run, with detailed notes and worldbuilding. I have a separate Foundry game with compiled maps and NPCs. I write after session rec so players don't have to, and I always have contingencies planned when needed.
My games focus on...
A blend of combat, roleplay, and exploration, with emphasis on developing bonds of fellowship between characters and players. I find a balanced approach best, where we discover the world together. Players grow from independent and self-focused characters to a nuanced group of friends and family.
When it comes to voices
I am constantly practicing them. In the shower, in my car, while at work, while walking my dogs. I sing silly songs to my dogs to practice different tempos and pitches. And I listen to and (palely) imitate the best voices that inspire me and attempt to (probably poorly) put my own spin on them.
